The RED vRS looks prefect, sans the alloys. The design on the grey vRS suits the car much better.

re: The Skoda Kodiaq. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 34.49 lakhs

Great review. Kodiaq looks very promising and when launched, can be a game changer for Skoda in India. All Skoda has to do, is to be sensible with the pricing and they have a winner in their hands. I can see many Superb/ Octavia owners already thinking of an upgrade and planing their finances to bring home the ' Kodiaq '.

Ideally they should bring vRS not for the volume but for that halo effect which in turn will increase the brand value of Skoda.

The back lights are different. They preserve the "C" profile

Absolute drool maal!

I can't wait to save up and trade the Yeti for this. Hope they don't price it too much higher than the Superb, and also praying they don't pull another Superb with improper kit allocation.

I guess the 2.0 TDI DSG (DQ250) should be the best variant. Our running isn't much but I shudder at the thought of having two DQ200 cars in the garage.

Cheers,

Sid.

The DQ200 is made by Skoda so thats why they can respond well (after a lot of shouting / kicking initially) to any issues

Fingers crossed to that. But it's threads like adi_petrolhead's Octavia thread which still create some apprehension about buying a DQ200 car with the higher rated (250Nm) engines.

Well let's hope Skoda India's Sales & Service transformation programme pays of as well.

OT: Dear Ajmat, Loved your coverage in this thread. Your write-ups are always phenomenal, if a little secretive this time.

EDIT: Wait a minute, The 2.0 TSI is quoted to have 320 Nm of torque in Ajmat's post#2. Does this mean we might get the Audi version (Don't know the name) of the 7-speed DSG to deal with the higher torque?

There is a teaser video in this link, along with the photo's posted by Ajmat - http://tech.firstpost.com/news-analy...ut-329337.html

Looks quite a potent crossover/SUV, many of existing XUV owners will find it a perfect replacement for aging XUV (including me).
Keenly awaiting for 1st Sep for it's debut, followed by an agonizing wait for India launch.

Incredibly handsome ! Dare I ask how fellow BHPians think this will be priced ? As with the Wrangler, as the price announcements get closer, the chances of my dreams being crushed will increase exponentially !

At first glance, the side profile of the headlamp cluster made me think it was a redesigned Evoque. Can't wait to see a real SUV from the Czech stable.

Given the continuous price increase that the Endeavour goes through, this might be a good alternative.

re: The Skoda Kodiaq. EDIT: Now launched at Rs 34.49 lakhs

The Czech Car Forum reconstructs the Puzzle to show the rendered Kodiaq,

Quote:
What you see below are not leaked official photos, or espionage or illustration is ... a puzzle. Especially around the side of the car he drove Skoda camera until proved practically everything, and that's enough "glue". Certainly, the result is not perfect, there are a few places that we had to guess or substitute other. Maybe the roof is a concept Vision S, therefore problematic connection to the windshield of the actual car. The rear wheel is the front because the back did not show the whole and it would be laborious and it domalovat in columns B and C, we had to be a little creative. But otherwise the result can not be described as an illustration or estimate, almost to the height of the upper edge of the side windows is Kodiaq how he shot herself Skoda. It really shows everything.

Looks like a beaut. Will this be competing with the Fortuners and Endeavours of the world or be in a price league above them?

Kodiaq looks stunning in pictures. Given the SUV craze in our country I expect it will give very good competition to the Endeavour and the new Fortuner if priced sensibly.
