Re: What features do you wish your car had?

I own a VW T-Roc:
I wish it had a few more driver assist and convenience features:

1. Adaptive Cruise Control:
T-Roc does not even come with CC. Given others have been able to launch cars with ACC, why not VW !

2. Blind Spot Monitoring:
Useful to detect those invisible vehicles behind !

3. Automatic Dipping Headlights:
I wish VW had enabled it by default. But it is possible to enable it using OBDEleven is what I understand.

4. Electronic Boot:
The boot of T-Roc is very heavy. Although its a good exercise to manually close the boot, I wish it were electronic . It's just convenient for the family to operate it.

Re: What features do you wish your car had?

I have a pre facelift Aspire,
I wish it had a better instrument cluster, the current one looks way too basic. And i wished that the ORVM controls were near the power window switches instead of all the way ahead near the A pillar. There are a couple of other things that i wished it had, but almost all of them are manageable by me, the HU is not a touchscreen, but I'm planning on changing to a good quality HU from an established brand like Sony or Pioneer, the headlamps are weak, so projector + HID upgrades planned for the same.

But I can't really do anything about the basic instrument cluster, maybe people abroad have found ways to replace it with better ones but I'm not at all interested in going that deep. Facelift aspire had a slightly larger MID screen but still looks basic.

Re: What features do you wish your car had?

I am mostly content with what we have in Sonet.
However to make the experience more pleasant and for sake of convenience I would have liked these features as well -

1. Ventilated seats.
2. 360 degree camera set up.
3. TPMS, although haven't faced any issues with tyre pressure so far, still would be nice to have.
4. NCAP rating of 5 star.
5. All wheel disk brakes.
6. 6 airbags instead of current 2.
7. Front parking sensors. Really useful while parking in tight spaces.
8. Auto up and down for all windows instead of only driver one.
9. Not essential but HUD would be cool to have.
10. Panaromic sunroof, although even the regular current one is useless for me but my wife and kid likes it so for next car will definitely keep this in mind.
11. Air purifier.

These are the ones I can think of right now. Some of them are actually available in the model above mine which ironically we booked but had to settle with HTX due to long waiting periods. HTX itself has most of the useful and comfort features I may need so no regrets.

Re: What features do you wish your car had?

Nexon XZ+.

1. Front camera for parking assistance and in close corners, helps from hitting the bumper.
2. Hardcore antitheft system with multi fail safe measures randomly placed in the car, perhaps inside the seat with battery that can last 48 hours.
3. Rear vehicle speed alert. I wish there was a feature fitted at the rear of the vehicle that could detect and warn of incoming vehicles from rear that exceeds certain limit. For e.g. a high speed car approaching from rear trying to overtake.

5. Bi Xenons with DRL

Re: What features do you wish your car had?

I daily drive a 2016 i20 crdi Asta(o). A few years ago I would have rattled off a big list of fancy features that I wished I had but the more I drive this, along with other cars, the more I realise I only really want two things to be happier :

1. An automatic transmission because the gear ratios in the 6 speed is weird and you have to keep shifting. Whatever pleasure a manual transmission gives is wiped out the moment you get stuck in traffic.

2. A more comfortable suspension.

The car was pretty loaded for its time and price and it already has everything else I would actually use daily.

2015 BMW 3GT Sportsline:
  • Wireless Apple Car Play
  • A reclining back seat - its too upright
  • Concealed storage type wheel well to keep the spare tyre

  • A steering wheel with paddle shifters (I installed this later as an aftermarket - LCI rectified this)

Re: What features do you wish your car had?

KIA Seltos D GTX+ AT

1. Backlit Windows switch
2. Ventilated seats for back seat passengers too. ( Too much competition to catch the front passenger seat )

Re: What features do you wish your car had?

2022 Toyota Crysta Z AT (diesel)

Oh, where do I begin.

Features this car should have had, given it's price point of 30+ lakhs:

1) CarPlay/Android Auto over Bluetooth
2) Paddle Shifters
3) Auto dimming IRVM - lack of this is just an insult to buyers
4) Front sensors: there are two (bang in the centre on the front bumper), but should have had four, since the front corners are the tight spots
5) Powered tail gate
6) Rear window shades

If wishes were horses:
1) 360 deg camera: better quality than what the Hycross got
2) Ventilated front seats

Look at the spec sheet of the Hycross: Toyota has smartly ensured it got everything!

Re: What features do you wish your car had?

Mahindra Thar Petrol AT Hardtop Feb 2021 Manufactured and Registered.
1. Factory fit split tumble foldable seat at the rear (a la Wrangler Willys)
2. Front Grab rails similar to Scorpio N
3. Rear Wiper and Washer.
4. More Powerful Halogen Headlamps factory fit.
5. Better interior storage and space management design
6. Openable and Replaceable Front portion of Hard Top (a la Wrangler Willys)
7. Headlamp washers and wipers (a la Jimny)
8. Proper well designed arm rests in front and at rear
9. Front seats could have had better under thigh support.
10. Remote Fuel lid (is not too important to me but lany people will appreciate it.)
11. Dead Pedal in the AT (is not too important to me but lany people will appreciate it.)
12. Frequency Modulated Dampers would have been great.
13. Diff Lockers front and rear would have been great.
14. Paddle Shifters on the Steering wheel and a Sport Mode would have been great.
15. Rear Disc Brakes.
16. Reverse Camera Plus Dash Cam Plus Front and Rear Parking Sensors or a 360 degree Camera with Sensors as Standard
17. Proper Car Alarm system with Parking event recording
18. They could have created a ‘Sport’ trim.
19. Their entire M2All accessories could have been much much better thought through, designed, executed with top attention to quality and priced smartly.

Re: What features do you wish your car had?

Honda Civic 2019:

1.5T instead of 1.8NA. Simply should have been there. We don't deserve ancient stuff. Change your opinions dear Japs, it's about time.

Better quality of interior plastics. The plastics are well finished without rough edges no doubt. Soft touch plastics are used in the front half of the cabin. The issue is they get scratched/scuffed wayyy too easily. Just running a microfiber leaves faint lines on them(especially the smooth plastics near the AirCon vents). Lots of other plastics(near the gear lever, gauge cluster etc)end up looking terrible after a while. The plastics used on the door cards are also awful. Since getting in and out is a challenge, my footwear ends up rubbing against door card at times causing some serious scuffs which can't be fixed.

Power/USB outlets at the rear. They're missing in 10th Gen Civics all over the world. I believe the 11th Gen Civics now get a pair at the rear.

Lumbar support for the driver's seat. At least a 2 way electronic lumbar support should have been offered. Drives could have gotten even more comfortable.

Foldable rear seat with 60:40 split. Honda India just doesn't believe in offering this feature on any of its sedans sold here and I don't know why. It's a very useful feature to have.

Sunglass holder. Never had it in any of the cars we've owned so would have liked it. Easy access when needed.

Factory tinted glasses. Only automotive manufacturers can help and save us from the scorching heat and the bizarre rules.

Minimum chrome. Plastic plated chrome picks up scratches and looks trash in no time. I would have preferred body coloured door handles and black bits instead.

Lesser turning radius. Requires a lot more room, anticipation and planning. Not impossible but the crazy traffic and bad roads do make it near impossible.

A superb product otherwise. Disappointed to see it go.

Re: What features do you wish your car had?

2022 Honda City ZX i-VTEC MT:

1. Ventilated seats
2. Better quality rear camera (360° camera would be )
3. Better quality touchscreen and sound system
4. Wireless Android Auto
5. Sunglass holder
6. Adjustable rear head restraints
7. Bigger glovebox with cooling function
8. Rear disk brakes
9. Proper TPMS. Not tyre deflation warning system.
10. LED rear indicators and reverse lights
11. Front parking sensors

Other than these features, I wish the car were built better. The bumper panels and certain interior parts flex on applying slight pressure. Moreover, the headlight shakes when going over bad roads or rumble strips.

Re: What features do you wish your car had?

Although It's pretty well equipped, I wish my Compass Petrol S had:

- Paddle Shifters.
- Front Parking Sensors
- Better use of the Driver display, similar to how the Seltos does it: They could've easily used the side cameras as lane assist cameras. What a wasted opportunity and I hope some aftermarket modding can add this.
- Ambient lighting inside the doors and on the dashboard, customizable using the Floating display.

Re: What features do you wish your car had?

This is the most relevant thread apparently for my post I believe.

It is possible that this has been asked elsewhere on forum but would want to check here afresh.

With so much of electronic wizardry and info on MID, why do we still not have any check light or indication if any of the vehicle's headlights, tail lights, fog lights, DRL or blinkers are not working?

An alert for any of these malfunctioning is much more important than knowing a lot of other non sense that cars tell these days.

Is this not worthy of being added? It can't be that complex or expensive and I see great utility and necessity in them. It's about SAFETY.

Happy to learn the reasons from fellow members and also if there were/are any cars that have this.
