Well looks are really subjective. I personally like Seltos. I'm not waiting for the next gen creta cause it just looks alittle off for me.

Seltos seems to be a car that will easily fit in my garage too! Are all cities unveiling the car on 3rd of August?

How safe are the connected cars like Hyundai Venue, MG Hector and Kia Seltos? If we can control these cars from our smartphone, so can the hackers also from their systems. Having booked a Kia Seltos, I am definitely worried as to what level of security have the manufactures placed in these cars. May be in the future, we will have a security proof connected car. But the initial lots definitely are vulnerable for any potential attack.

Thank you. I do agree that it simply doesn't stack up to the MG and if the Creta also had all the gizmos, I can safely say that the New Creta would leave the Seltos far behind (although to me new Creta looks hideous!).

I can vouch that taller friends, who have the typical trait of picking an extremely relaxed/reclined position while driving, will have their passengers behind them hunting for space. I experience that with another 5'10" patron in front, and me 5'9" had my knees rubbing the front seat back. That's almost like sub4m CSUV feeling.

The screen is also not attractive, and that may be due to the layout and the fonts which would not WOW you (like the MG). Can't really put a finger to it but I guess, the screens do not appear large when they are in landscape orientation vs the portrait (just like the Tesla's). And may be because we are so used to the ones in our hands, it starts to look un-intuitive .

One thing that I got to say is, Size/Space is something that can't be ignored and Seltos suffers there, it may be marginally so but if Creta to many here seemed overpriced, largely due to lack of size, when compared with the bigger XUV, Harrier and Hector largely in the same price range, the Seltos would soon feel the same.

While there are some things that looks better in Kia like the steering, keyfob, etc. I know Hyundai would one up Kia on everything else just by the time most people will end up getting their Seltos (if the bigger and newer Creta does come by the year-end)!

I also wanted to add that the currently displayed HTX+ diesel is also missing the traction control (ESP) as the button to switch it off besides was also missing just like its neighbouring missing HUD button. Not sure if the auto will have it, but seems like the same as Hyundai in the SX vs the SX(o). This is in addition to the missing 4 airbags!

I was also now doing some research to guesstimate to see where the Seltos HTX+ Auto pricing could land, and to put it in perspective, without the offers the Creta SX Auto 1.6D is 18.2L OTR Delhi, which is supposedly without a lot of gizmos and BSVI compliance, plus Kia positioning (more premium). Which would mean that the Kia HTX+ 1.6D Auto should be with introductory pricing at least 18.5-19L OTR Delhi. That to me simply makes it an overpriced proposition, and the way the market is you never know if the newer launches have to become more aggressive and price correct!

While Hyundai's - market positioning & familiarity may be Kia's biggest advantage, Hyundai's pricing baggage will be Kia's biggest downside (hoping to be pleasantly surprised!).

Also as with Hyundai's we all know that they will not wow us as the diesels of the FCA group on power & mileage, but definitely win us over on refinement and NVH.

I too have got the invite for showroom inauguration and Kia Seltos unveiling tomorrow 11 am @ Kia Automotive, Kondapur. They however have only the HTX+ Diesel Manual on display. The GTX Petrol Auto is expected in another week or so. No news from them on the test drive cars. I hope they bring the test drive cars before Aug 22nd, when the Pricing and Variant list are expected to be officially revealed. Tomorrow I can just go to the showroom and have a walk through of the car.

This is interesting, the 4th image here seems to be of a Diesel HTX 1.6D Auto, and seems like not of a showroom car (no plastics), this means that the auto will not come in the top trim.

All others seems to be of the pre-production cars, even the white one (missing badging, red on alloys and brakes, but no highlights or GT badging).

Let me explain my thought process:
1. No GT Badging on steering, and no red highlights
2. RPM meter redline (Diesel)
3. Auto gearshift, but no 360 camera or parking assist/ DRVM buttons are blanked (remember the display cars had this, however when I checked I couldn't find the side or front cameras, and we know these were pre-production and only manual)
4. No Bose on the screen, suggesting no Bose (remember the display cars also didn't had this, but had speakers and we know these were pre-production and only manual)
5. Seat stitch pattern and ventilated button suggest - HTX/HTX+?
6. MID is the smaller one, and not the one on top model (HTX?)
7. Handbrake warning is illuminated, but no e-brake button seen
8. No mode selector, so no DCT
9. Map showing Andhra Pradesh, seems somewhere near plant, production model?

Just my 2 cents. Can anyone please help me to understand what is the real world mileage of Creta 1.6D auto?

I have been driving the Creta 1.6D auto since December 2017. I get about 11.5 kmpl in the city (tankfull to tankfull method). Mileage on the highways ranges from 16 to 20 kmpl depending on how heavy or light the right foot is.

I highly doubt that it looks like XUV 300, XUV 300 looks big on the road. XUV 300 is wider and taller than the Seltos.

Guna as you would know, XUV300 is based on Tivoli, which should M&M not wanted to position in sub4m by chopping the boot, would have sat very comfortably with the Creta. Well there is no ways to know until someone measures it, but in most reviews it did suggest that the XUV300 does have one of the widest cabins.

I feel your expected pricing is really off the charts. Think about it, the Seltos is based on the Creta platform and is a higher quality product than the Creta and yet you think it should be priced in the range of the Venue. I really doubt it happening.
On the other hand, a surprise pricing would be at par with the Creta, then Seltos would be the obvious choice instead of Creta, because Creta has become old now, and then after a year the new Creta would come into the market. This way the sales number of Creta would remain in the Hyundai family itself and won't be eaten by the other players. This way Kia would be having a good start by handing over the Creta numbers to Seltos and the market numbers will make it a successful brand. Economically & Marketing point of view it makes more sense I guess.
