Size wise it is marginally bigger than the Creta.
Hi can you share the photographs here please? You can attach them in the post.

re: The Kia Seltos SUV (SP Concept). EDIT : Launched at Rs. 9.69 lakhs

So here is a list of considerations at my end as I count the days of my current 7 year old i20 (2012).

- Compact SUV(ish). Significantly bigger than my current space inside. Space inside is important.
- Petrol only. Automatic. (BS6 ? ....Sure!)
- Self driven.Sedate and safe driver, seldom having adrenaline rush while driving. But love to rev when there is scope.
- Good power and torque, smooth riding, braking and manoeuvring is essential.
- No compromise on safety features
- 90% 3 occupants. Occasionally 4-5
- 95% City drive. No off-roading (though some prominent Bangalore roads/lanes can really test that out)
- Avg 30-35Kms daily. Good amount of time in traffic
- FE is important but not worried about some decimals moving up/down
- Infotainment with good Sound quality is important - Very important!!!
- For a tech savvy person, connected cars these days seems to be natural inclination. Love the bells and whistles.
- Decent boot.
- Looks are subjective but shouldn't be dated or dull.
- Professional service support
- Parking space has challenges to move in bigger cars like XUV500/Harrier. So compact is the word.
- Not more than 20-21L on road in Bangalore

Creta has been in the radar since last facelift but have never been wowed by VFM proposition and variant mixes. But numbers does say that it does really well in the market.

Have been following Harrier & MG. - but the sizes (both) and absence of Petrol (in Harrier) and ride quality (in MG) eliminate them.
So Seltos suddenly comes up the rank order, kind of checking most of the boxes confidently.

Today the consumer has a wide range of choices - brands, variants, price points etc etc. This wasn't the case when I got my first one. I had to be a Maruti back then

I believe, no car is perfect, it's more important to understand and rationalise the requirements and find the closest match.

re: The Kia Seltos SUV (SP Concept). EDIT : Launched at Rs. 9.69 lakhs

I had clicked on the FB ad and left my interest to know more about Seltos.
I got a call from them today and this is what I gathered:
  • There will be a top of the line Auto variant
  • Indicative price between 12-16 lakhs ex showroom (did not make sense, it looks too narrow a range to cover the variants)
  • One can book the car by paying 25 K if he/she wants the delivery in September. It is fully refundable if one decides to cancel the booking
  • Sales person thinks it will be priced competitively to be able to establish the brand

re: The Kia Seltos SUV (SP Concept). EDIT : Launched at Rs. 9.69 lakhs

I talked to my friend regarding the Automatic variants. Although initially he told auto top variant shares the same features as that of Manual variant, he called me in the morning saying there seems to be some confusion in this regard and he will try to confirm the same.

Meanwhile, I did my own research yesterday evening. Please check the following walkaround video of Motoroctane. The car is a dual tone IVT variant (I guess the Diesel Auto) and if you closely look the interiors, it seems to be fully loaded variant. Further, the sunroof is present. Let us wait and see what Kia is planning. In my opinion, they will lose a lot of customers if they're not launching the top variant.

Found this video in twitter showing the white color at night. The rear light looks nice.

The IVT is the CVT petrol and the diesel has a torque converter. So probably the diesel AT top end just might not get those features just like how Hyundai has it, but its too soon to tell, the car launch is months away.

re: The Kia Seltos SUV (SP Concept). EDIT : Launched at Rs. 9.69 lakhs

How can the top DCT petrol not have Front Parking Sensors, how ridiculous.

So, Kia will give heads up display in GTX Petrol AT and not Front parking sensors, what are they smoking?

I have just checked with my friend who confirmed from one of the trainers that there will be no GTX+ DCT. If you want the top of the line automatic, the only option is Diesel Automatic. 1.5L petrol automatic, I'm not so sure.

Just logged in to post the same and the variants quoted in the picture makes sense to what my friend says.

I don't understand why they showcased the DCT top end at the dealer meet and at the launch

Kia should not have done this.

Navrevv - Is this the right contact info for MG Road Gurgaon Kia dealership? Are there more Kia dealers in Gurgaon or just this one.

The reason I ask is I want to give the deposit now so the delivery is timely.

Wow, isn't it a looker in black. Almost every car looks good in black and with such right proportions as this one it can only get better.

Pls speak to Shubham at +91 89012 66636 at Kia dealership, MG Road, Gurgaon

Also, absolutely horrible strategy by Kia not to offer DCT in GTX+ and give half baked features in GTX. Makes sense to go with Diesel AT but I personally don’t like TC’s and a 6 speed AT. Looks like I might have to wait for T-Cross till next year. Atleast, I know I will get much much better driving dynamics. Features are good in Kia but I can’t compromise on ride and handling.
