Yup Totally agree with you. Saw it in the showroom on Marine Drive and it was quite dreadful to look at. However, so is the Indigo, and see how that's selling.

I actually prefer the rear to the front. Those headlights and the shape of that grill are really out of the 1980's. I'm sure renault could have done better at the same price. Even the Palio and Indica were built to a price and they have a much better design. Just because it's cheap (not that cheap IMO) doesn't mean it has to look ugly.

Personally, for around 7 lakhs on road in Mumbai, I can think of better cars to spend my money on.

OK, so I decided to be an exited BHPian for once in my life, & clicked snaps of a black Logan I saw (with Nasik plates) standing on the road, much to the embarrassment of my buddy outside whose building it was.

No badging, but methinks this may have been the fully loaded one.

My in-the-flesh take?

For it's price (and I've heard it'll be between 4.5 - 6 lakhs on the road), decent rear styling, decent quality overall, very nice liveable interior.

The front styling was very screwed - too darned angular, & the finish reminded me of the Rover/Sipani thingies from the 80's. Also the rear 3/4 styling seemed a bit off, especially around the C pillar.

Nice huge windows all around though. Seemed very airy.

Nice pics elf and u narcissist, you!! would'nt leave the photo op of "displaying" yourself in one of the pics now could you?
this just might be the fully loaded one as looks from the Aluminum on the dash etc but the fully loaded one comes with "A" airbag, for the driver (baki passengers bhaad mein jao). Could'nt see from the pic whether it was "singularly airbagged". Also i think ther full on version would have mag wheels. This might be the top-1 model

  • I agree to that , but Its as good looking if not better as Indigo .
  • This is one car that may really rock Taxi segment if reliability stays to REnault standards.
  • They have decided to keep white colour off the option lists in the base segments coz they may not be able to cater to demands from the Taxi - Wallah segment( wee bit optimistic ) though I feel the actual reason may be the Taxi Wallah image that may Tarnsih the overall value of the car among buyers that segment.

theres only 3 models. the base GL, mid GLE, and top GLS. the GLE doesnt have fog lamps and silver accents on the aircon vents so this must be the GLS top end. but petrol or diesel?

ps: elfie which phone?

Thought I'd give you guys the option of looking at something better than the Logan.

And the car came with a sticker on the front windscreen which looked like some guy was kicking a football. My friend thought it may be the airbag sticker. Didn't see any "SRS" sign anywhere on the steering wheel hub though.

Maybe for the Dacia guys "Airbag" means, besides one's woman, the round leather object that you kick into a frame with a net attached in the rear.
Maybe then thats why all Dacias come with a complimentory football.

its been mentioned in a couple of places and also the blog spot link above posted by nbr, that NVH does intrude into cabin space, due to omission of soundproofing to keep the cost down.

So are we looking at NVH levels better or poorer than the Indigo ??
