Either a price drop from Hyundai, or major discounts!
What about Ford,Honda and Chevy.. lets see who is going to give max discounts. When Verna was launched, rest did not reacted with any major discounts.

I dont agree with your calculation. According to you, a 7 lakh ex-showroom price will be :

7 Lacs+ 87500+87500+25K+5K= 9.05 Lakhs

Here in hyderabad, the calculation is simple, OTR is 12.5% total of ex-showroom which includes the insurance charges meaning a 7.00 lakh car will come for 7.90 lakhs OTR

Man pricing is tempting... 70k difference between models given that Zxi has it all except Seat Covers..

Now lest see how maruti pulls it off... Any news on it's diesel variant. I am waiting for the diesel....

Maruti SX4 @ Rs 6.18 lakh

Maruti Udyog, the country's largest carmaker, today launched its premium sedan 'SX4' priced between Rs 6.18 lakh-6.89 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The company has launched two variants of the car and it would provide additional features on the top-end variant, which would be priced at Rs 7.24 lakh.

The car would compete with popular models including Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Ford Fiesta and Indigo XL.

Speaking at the launch, Jagdish Khattar, Managing Director & CEO, MUL, said, "SX4 sedan is just the right car with which Maruti can reinforce its presence in the A3 segment and enhance its leadership. The large number of customers who bought our compact cars 4-5 years ago, and also Esteem and Baleno customers, will now choose the SX4 as the next upgrade option. Besides, people who like to own a Maruti Suzuki car, but were considering moving to competitors because we did not offer an A3 segment car of their choice, will now choose the SX4 sedan".

"The company has already dispatched 1,500 units of the new car and would send out another lot of 500 units tomorrow...The dispatch of the second lot of SX4s would ensure a country-wide presence," Khattar said.

The company is projecting the SX4 as "a bold, muscular and feature-packed car, powered by the global M-series engine and built on a brand new platform."

so assuming vat is already included, the car must be available for around 8-ish !! wow

ex showroom will have VAT of 12.5% included in Bangalore

egs my bill for swift D was like 4,45 + 55 Vat@12.5% = 5,00 ex showroom, + 50 RT + 15 INS + 5K misc charges. (Insurance valued for 4,74 was 15k)

Do your maths and enjoy.

jaggu da

i am really enjoying doing this math. finally i can dream of owning one car, which promises more stuff for less moolah and at the same time of decent high quality, and trouncing all others in the market now. sometimes i wonder why it has to be only maruti that has to show the way always. its like australia always winning the world cup.

OT: an interesting ad at the cauvery theatre junction, near windsor manor
Fosters - australian for habit

Sx4 - indian for the MAN among cars! how true
