Logan was built for 3rd world countries (its sad that it means us). NMB, Swift were not built for that purpose and will be anyday better than Logan etc.,

Ported. It says that the car is running on JK tyres. So for a manufacturer to produce 16" tyres, they have to have an assured OE market for them, so yes, I expect the top model to arrive in showrooms with them. I hope!

Do I see the words ZXI written on the boot ?? Looks juicy. The only thing is the price. This time i dont think maruti will think cheap. Since its 102 bhp, it would be near the verna's price. and this 1598cc is it the petrol motor? what would the diesel come with? 90bhp 1.3 JTD? i cant wait for news! i ve been drooling over all the cars since last week launching one by one!

16s are still an overkill. I expect them to come with 14s since the Fiesta and the Aveo across all their versions come with 175/75 and 185/60 R14s. So I expect optional 15s at the most at the ZXi end of the spectrum. Besides they are already supplying relative 14s on the Swift so it'd only be more cost effective for them, and I don't expect much else from the cost-cutter supremo MUL.

Nice pics Rtech. If this is the New Baleno then should give some good competion to current cars in its section. I like the looks. Now what need to be seen is the pricing & package that it will offer

Here's what the souped up version of the SX4 ala Baleno will look like:
Autoblog

Pics are from the NY Auto Show.

I think it's a little too bling bling for me but a toned down version of this might be just right Maruti flagship (Barring the Grand Vitara) for the Indian market.

Rt, that rear three-quarters with that little signpost blocking the A-pillar is brilliant. The A-pillar is a big letdown in an otherwise good design. And those alloys do not look like 16"s. 205/60 16 sounds more like an Innova to me!

So this isn't the same old G16 then...

I think the car in pictures has 16" rims because normally for 14" rims you have a 4 bolt mount whereas 16 inchers have a 5 bolt mount. The car posted by RT looks like a production model (seeing a part of the registration), I feel Maruti will indeed bring it with 16" rims. Possibly I think they will reduce the width to 185 or 195.

Looks Vernaish and out of proportion with big tyres. But hey specs are interesting. Any idea if there is a New Maruti Esteem on the blocks?

Contessa 13 inchers have a 5 bolt pattern while Corolla and Elantra 15 inchers have a 4 bolt pattern. So I don't think you can justify it on those lines.
