i find innova and scorpio highly over-rated. both for different reasons altogether.

under-rated:
baleno, baleno altura, oldest versions of the honda city, fiat uno, palio. many actually!!

Here's my two cents :-

Underrated : A4, Superb, Palio, Embera[CRDi 6-Speed], Mondeo[Petrol], [Subaru?] Forester, Baleno[although it should really have replaced the Esteem which post-2000 remained just a sad excuse for transport, maybe then it wouldn't have become such a cliche in this context], Passat["No seriously, wait will you please listen? What? Yes its a VW, but so what? Huh? But do you know....."

Overrated : [For six-footers in the rear seat only] Swift, Civic [The manual accelerates? Please rip a Corolla. And the Paddle-shift..... ], Octavia L&K [Twenty rupees worth of wood inserts and yellow leather spells luxury, ya' know], Laura[18L for about three millimetres of rear legroom], LX470 [This one's for Bollywood].

Somehow when i began writing, I had a lot more in mind

Quality issues? Well then...

You know, something that qualifies under this topic, PURELY based on that yardstick, is the Corolla. I love my car, I absolutely adore it, but I must admit that the build quality of the interiors is really, really not upto the mark. Fit and finish too. Somehow, it just doesnt add up to the Toyota image.

But yeah, the rest of the package is so damn good, the aforementioned issues dont bother me at all. Just kinda turn a blind eye towards them by now.

Overrated: Honday City...I mean when my family was buying a new car, my dad and grandad were hell bent on it for some reason. Perhaps its a good car but it is way overrated. And the steering is like twirling with a finger.

Underrated: Id say accent. For the pure reason being that i have seen 1st hand the punishment & abuse it has taken from a cousin and yet it has never complained, be it reliability or wear and tear.

i want to add swift petrol or diesel to this list as the most over rated car. for the price paid it rattles like crazy, it has no finish, IMO, the have provided the suspension and the seating setup i such a manner that when on full throttle it pushes the driver and other in the car back like as if there is nos in the car and has a ooomp! factor so this sells other wise for the price i think one should get the dezire not the hatch!

The most over-rated cars are the scorpio and the safari..

Hi, If one were to start there would be a litany of reasons but one that comes very easily to my mind - one which could be a symptom rather than the cause- is that they were never taken seriously...even now they aren't, inspite of its 'relative' reliability and ruggedness...it was always bought in the rural areas as there was no other choice than for its positive attributes, I guess...
