Re: Is your car rattle-free?

My Renalt Kwid, although built to a cost and with negligible safety and build has had hardly any rattles in more than 5 years of ownership.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

Hyundai Creta 2019 SX VTVT with 26.5k on Odo. Only rattle was from the rear side which sounded like as if the shockers have given up. Upon inspection found the rear seat was loose and upon seating it again the noise went away.Apart from that no rattles.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

Tata Hexa XTA: Done 50K kms, absolutely rattle-free no matter what surface I drive on.
Honda City 2011: Done 90K kms, only noise of suspension thuds on bad roads, else no noise.
Maruti Swift 2014 Diesel: Done 100K kms, all doors damped, but it is a rattlebox. The dashboard, the cowl top and whatnot just rattle if I drive on a road that is not runway-like.

Had a Zen 2003 which, surprisingly, did not rattle at all in the 15 years it was driven like there is no tomorrow.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

Creta 2017 - No rattles, no squeak, nothing. Run 57000 km’s

Sonet 2021- Driven 10000 km’s, the parcel tray and one of the seatbelt holder’s has started to rattle already. And no matter what i try, it doesnt go away. Quite sad, will take up this matter in the service due next week.

WagonR - 2010 - >115000kms

There is a ting ting ting sound comes sometimes. Started noticing this from around 60k kms, but I have not yet figured out the exact condition to recreate that noise.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

2014 Ertiga ZDI 125,675 Kms.

I own a diesel Ertiga ZDI, currently in its 8th year of ownership. The car has served me well reliably on multiple highway runs till date with no complaints as such. The car hasn't had much of long drive usage since the pandemic set in around early Jan 2020. Since 2019, I noticed occasional rattling from the rear right window. Off late this has become a persistent annoyance. Have learnt to live with it than to get the door or window removed to check this out at a service centre.

My previous car, the Ford Figo Diesel served me well for over 156000+ kms before i sold it off in early 2018. The first generation Figo was a a solid well built car. I recall no rattles on it. While my first car Santro did have rattles when it started ageing.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

November 2016 Hyundai Tucson around 65000 km. Had absolutely zero rattle/noise issues until a month ago when I started hearing some rattling underneath the steering wheel when going over uneven roads/speed bumps. Showed it to the service centre and they tightened/replaced some screws underneath the steering assembly and the problem seems to be gone (they did charge 5k for it though). Service centre people said it happens sometimes and is not a big deal.

Point to note: they were saying if the problem doesn't go away with these simple fixes then only other solution would be to replace the entire stearing assembly which would cost around 1 lakh.

You meant 32k kms?? Even that is also very low for a 13+ year old car.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

09 Civic - 1.3L KMs.
15 City - 1.4L KMs.
17 Polo - 35k KMs.

All KMs are approximates.

The Civic and Polo are completely rattle free, the City is about 90%.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

MS dezire 2015 vxi
The driver seat base attachemnt rails started creaking on the first drive out of the showroom.
MS ASS is like- why is that even a problem? It runs na? What more do you want? (of course never vocalised in these many words but you get the drift)
After lubricating it goes away for a few weeks and then returns.
MS Celerio vxi 2014: continuous squeaks from suspension all around on anything less than perfect road. Similar response form the ASS.
Never buying a Maruti again.

What was I thinking? Yep, it's 32k kms. Don't use it normally. Weekend short drives are all I do.
