Hi tushky!

I know I am (almost) five years late to this post, but I think it is worth a shot to ask if you found a solution to the problem. I have been facing the same issue for the last year or so.

I sold the car 1 year back. However didn't find any solution for the problem. Just ignore the noise.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

Would it be possible to make a poll out of this please.

Is your car, atleast 1 years old, and still rattle-free?

As someone who buys used cars, I am used to minor rattles. I dont try to fix rattles that require dismantling anything major like the dashboard or complete door trim, because from experience I know that this process may or may not fox rattles, but will definitely increase them.

So advice to all people chasing rattles, if any mechanic says "Kholke dekhna padega kya awaaz hai! (Need to open and see where the sound comes from)".

KHOLNA MAT! (DO NOT OPEN)
I totally agree with you on that, most of the fiber parts are clip fitted once they lose their fitment and tampered. its most likely to increase clearence which i future shall lead to more sounds and even loose fitment.

Sonet 2021- Driven 10000 km’s, the parcel tray and one of the seatbelt holder’s has started to rattle already. And no matter what i try, it doesnt go away. Quite sad, will take up this matter in the service due next week.
I also drive Sonet D6AT 2021 Model with 77K kms on odo. I noticed the parcel tray rattling sound in the first month of ownership, highlighted it to the service centre guys, they put a electrical tape on the two slots (protrusions) on which the parcel tray locks fit in. There’s no sound or play in the parcel tray thereafter.

The car is completely silent !!

Hi, I complained about this to the service centre guys and they fixed it promptly. The car is rattle free since then and has run 44k km’s now. Although there are other issues which have cropped up

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

My granddads 2009 Renault Logan GLX 1.4 (been sold a while back), he was the first owner and was the first car id ever driven, even after its engine issues and suspension issues, and the horrible plastic AC mechanisms, it surprisingly had very little rattles inside, even at 1.5 lakh kms, the thing was still comfortable, and very quiet (when in the correct rpm range and asphalt road of course)

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

I have two cars.

1) Xuv300 BS6 diesel (2021),
2) Figo sports edition 1.5 TDCI (purchased pre-owned in 2022)

Both the vehicles are almost rattle free. There is not a single squeak. Only sometimes rear parcel tray makes an irritant noise in Xuv300. On the other hand, in both the cars if i keep smaller size bottles in the bottle holders, only then it make some noise when the car is being driven in slightly bad roads with undulations.

Previously i used to own a 1st gen celerio and it was nothing short of a "rattle snake". Will never ever purchase a maruti in future...

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

2012 Corolla Altis - 90K on the ODO. That thing just feels like it is brand new. No rattles, no unwanted noises. The suspension is weak, so it crashes on potholes. Other than that, still feels like it came home from showroom yesterday.

2024 Scorpio N - 14K on the ODO. Again, so far so good. If the rear seatbelts are not used, they keep rubbing the panels and make a noise. So I keep them buckled when not in use. The car has run over good roads, bad roads, no roads, craters, speed breakers, all at good speeds. I bought this for rough use. And it does that job excellently well.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

I recently got a Taigun 1.5 DSG and after 1000 kms there is lot of rattles from the trunk. Used a polo 1.2 DSG before for 7 years which clocked only 33k kms and it was rattle free.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

Rattle free, yes! Squeaks free, no! I am blaming the roads for this. The car after every service feels brand new and after a few days of driving in Mumbai's craters, starts making squeaking sounds.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

Tata Safari XZA+ Gold 2022 - 38k kms
Rattles all the time and from different places. Sunroof, door panels, rear trunk panels, dash - and now my STEERING (yes, you read that right).
They go away for a while after servicing, but always pop back up to say hi from time to time. Roads that I drive on are okayish, and I am not heavy footed on my acceleration either.

On a side note, do any other Safari/Harrier owners have issue of wind noise post 80 kmph? Service center told me that the car is designed for no wind noise below 80 kmph and they can't do anything when it goes past it.
