Also, manufacturers might quote less to avoid commercial registration.

Initial thoughts on the content shared by Toyota on the "launch"; I thought the Video was very clean & straight forward on who should buy one; 1) If you play Golf 2) If you go off roading 3) If you generally ferry your bicycles. 4) If you have dirt track mini-car to carry. Such "rich" needs, only then you get one ![]() Looks: Hilux's facia looks so much like a 'Cut' Innova. Most people would want to make their 'Innovas' richer now ![]() Pricing: Toyota seems to be waiting on Isuzu's new MuX launch (by March 2022 ?) to price it right. Isuzu V-Cross payload is 250kgs on paper. I have carried 800 kgs. They usually do it to get it registered as a private vehicle. |

| ![]() I am happy about Hilux being brought to India. The main difference between this and Isuzu is the Toyota badge, and the things that come with it, mainly peace of mind. A query: I suppose this vehicle will have a life of 10 years in Delhi and 15 years elsewhere, due to current rules about diesel engines. Is that correct? | ![]() There is no such variant as Low, the lower variant is STD. The brochure is here and the STD variant has Dusk-sensing Halogen Headlights, fabric seats, manual AC controls, manually adjustable driver seat and 17 inch rims. This is how the STD variant is going to look like: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by CEF_Beasts : 20th January 2022 at 17:45. |

As others are stated Toyota India are intentionally misleading the specs to get around commercial registration. Last edited by Black_Star : 20th January 2022 at 18:33.

| ![]() So if I pre-book the vehicle and when they launch it and I don't like the price, what happens then? Run behind the dealer for refund or what exactly :S If they give me sticker shock right on first day, I won't even book the car and save headache afterwards. So how are people booking cars without even knowing the price? Or you just don't care what price it is launched at...I guess I am not following this strategy at all. Kia also launched Carens and garnered so many bookings. What I am missing? Personally I won't pre-book ANY car no matter the brand or how good the previews are. |

| ![]() According to the sales person the ex-showroom price is estimated to be between 30 and 34 lakhs. I got a WhatsApp with the brochure, video and tentative price expectation. |

With that pricing, even a Toyota will have to eat humble pie, no one will buy it. This only makes sense if its 12-15 lakhs lesser than a Fortuner.

Typically I'm not sure pick up trucks like these will have enough cab space at the rear to enable that recline angle adjustment
