Highly doubt they will introduce it. In most forums MG keeps mentioning that it is focused on Petrol engines and no plans for diesel AT.

I wish MG replaces current petrol turbo GM engine with newly developed 1.5L turbo engine (by MG motors itself) which has higher power figures and higher mileage. This new engine has been introduced in China in latest SUVs of MG. Maybe it will take generation change to introduce it.

Might be something specific to that Gloster. I've completed 72000 Kms on my Hector Diesel in 2.5 years and I've pretty much faced no problems whatsoever. This includes long frequent road trips to the mountains as well.

Don't really like the facelifted front though. The current model has a lot more character. Tbh, the front is the only solid angle that actually works for it.

Good to hear positive feedback on Hector. I have booked one and waiting for facelift version which may bring in much modern interiors with less laggy screens (as per autocar)

On facelift leaked images, i will suggest to take it with bucket load of salt. The leaked image is of Almaz RS Pro, most likely being tested for ADAS. Also the number plate in the image looks morphed. This could be some Indonesian picture posted in India as a clickbait.

The actual facelift may actually be much different if you refer to other leaks till date. It looks like more of a blend of Mexican Captiva and larger grill of Hector Plus (or even new Indonesian Creta). Also tail light of Hector is expected to be connected one, just like in Tiguan, Tucson. (As posted earlier by someone in this thread)

Very good eye. That number plate on the non-camouflaged car is definitely a photoshop job.

In continuation of my previous post, I am expecting facelift to look somewhat like this (picture below) and not like Wuling Almaz.

Re: 2021 MG Hector Facelift : A Close Look

Only if company was listening! -

MG Hector's Petrol engine is one sourced from GM owned Daewoo (Daewoo STEC III LJO 1.5L). This engine has been in use in many cars globally since last 5 years. We all know it's shortcomings, especially in as massive car like Hector, which makes it seem less powerful and still be more hungry for fuel.

My only hope is that MG should replace it with GM's 1.5 L 15C4E SGE I4 turbo, recently introduced in MG5 Scorpio, MG 6PRO and MG One SUV. This engine is capable of churning out the maximum power is 181 hp (133Kh) and peak torque of 285 Nm. Also it is compatible with Bosch CVT GB used in Hector.

The reviewers of above cars have confirmed fuel economy of this new engine is close to 16kmpl, much better than current 7-9kmpl.

This engine can solve for power and mileage issues of Hector and make it flawless!
