This part in the video gives another hint about the exteriors and it looks better than the leaked image. Will be interesting to see proper high resolution images of the car. For now, the proportions seem a bit off.

Agree, the tail light seems to be more a side light than being on the tail. Manufacturers have run out of ideas in designing the DRL's. They go crazy for the sake of creativity.

I think it is that "yucky" color shade of that unit that created the havoc. Having seen a test mule in person, I didn't find any disproportion. If it was there, I believe it would have shown up even on the camouflaged version as well.

I hope that door handle isn’t electronic like Tesla Model S. If it is, good luck to the owners. Knowing how Mahindra takes time to get issues with electronics sorted, don’t be surprised if many owners are stuck out of their cars.

Maybe colour of the car is culprit here. But the interior definitely looks way better than XUV5OO and it's competitors. Hope it feels the same in real-time.

I may be an outlier in this regard but i find the name of these drive modes (Zip/Zap/Zoom) downright childish and immature.

What's wrong with the commonly used nomenclature of Eco/Normal/Power or Comfort/Sports/Sports Plus etc.?

My first reaction to the leaked images when i opened this post was what the! But then i opened the pictures in another window to view them better but nope still cannot digest the design.

Also, as the body shell of the xuv700 looks exactly same as the current xuv500 and assuming wheelbase is the same, will this be having a negligible boot space as well?

The earlier picture is definitely distorted. If you can see beyond the angle, It looks like a typical Mahindra. The front portion looks ugly in every Mahindra. The Thar is an exception, but then we all know where it got its looks from. We cant expect a Safari from Mahindra.

XUV700 was never about the looks. It's about the features and pricing.

We all know Mahindra’s potential of creating really terrible designs.So I have to say this is about what I expected.Although I thought it would have a more muscular stance.
But honestly I dont think this design will really prevent consumers from choosing it as their ride considering the feature list and also the fact that XUV500 has a unique pull among customers.
If it is quite reliable,I will choose it over the others.

No matter how bad and tasteless the design looks, once the feature list will be released, No one will give two hoots about design.

Harrier will be going to need a good upgrade in terms of features to keep up with the demand, otherwise no matter how good that car drives, will be the most outdated car in his segment.

Looks like general feedback on the design is very very negative. Similar negative comments were also there for XU5 500 initial design and we know what happened later. Crowd stormed Mahindra showrooms after the price announcement. I personally saw a guy booking 2 XUV 500 on the spot (1 for him and other for his cousin/brother). All he checked was couple of fancy lights inside the cabin.

I tried correcting the distortions as best I could but without a proper reference picture couldn't do much. Though after the distortion correction, I kind of like the design. It won't win any awards but it's digestible.

The car looks so much like the XUV 5OO that I feel they should have kept the name. It might be larger but it doesn't seem to be quite as large. Also, the bulbous nature of the car seems to remain in the new avatar but then again, the pictures aren't that clear so I guess we'll all have to wait and watch. I am excited for August, hope we atleast get a proper glimpse of the car

My opinion.. the rear looks just ugly. I don’t see anything interesting. Even the camouflage vehicles looked better. Such a dampener. I canceled my Kushaq booking and wanted to wait for this. Guess my SUV purchase plan will be just that.. A plan..

These folks who are involved in creating the teaser videos, certainly know how to make things look classy. If the interior looks as good as in this video, I will ignore the goof ups on the exterior styling front.
