Superb owners who have the 2.0 TSi engine, can you please let us know how's the fuel economy? I heard under moderately enthusiastic driving or in the city, the mileage drops to single digits.

If that's the case, with a heavier tourer, we are probably looking at a guzzler here.

That is more or less that case, atleast with me. With close to 50-50 driving between highways and Mumbai traffic, my overall mileage is a little bit above 10.

I have also been looking at the mileage including tiguan allspace. Didn't yet see real world figures in city and highways from owners. Hoping to see that soon

Weight is very comparable. So mileage should be very close

Hi Team,

I am planning to buy a SUV, below are my Requirements
1) Powerful Petrol Engine
2) Big Size , will prefer 7 seater but a bigger 5 seater can also be considered (not looking for Mid size like Creta, Seltos, Compass)
3) AWD or 4x4 preferred but if not then not a deal breaker
4) Monocoque Chassis , should be a comfortable ride
5) Feature loaded, not looking for any dated car
6) Yearly running under 10-15k
7) Budget 25-45 Lakhs ( I know its a wide range but if any car which fits above requirement like XUV700 , then I won't mind saving few lakhs)

I am considering XUV700, Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, Fortuner.
Should I be considering Volvo Xc40 or upcoming Audi Q3? Am I missing any option?

Please suggest.

P.S- I have booked XUV700 AT Pertrol L to be on a safer side. I will look to finalize it by August/Sept 2022.

Think with your needs, and the fact that you do not want to spend if there is no need to, then the XUV700 fits to a T

Of course if you want to splurge on more luxurious brands then you could consider the XC40, Q3, X1 or the GLA. Note that with these cars, you may be crossing your budget, and also be a bit short on space. The Kodiaq, Meridian and Tiguan may represent a relatively value for money option.

SA had quoted owners reporting between 6-8 kmpl for the Allspace.
Ownership threads here also indicate around 8 kmpl for city driving and ~ 11-13 for highways.

XC40, GLA, X1 will not be big size and spacious cars. Kodiaq or yet to be revealed Meridian might fit the bill. New, feature loaded and value for money.

I am sold on the new Kodiaq. I am looking to replace my aging Gen2 Superb. TD’ed several cars. Nothing that would fit in my budget impressed me including the new Superb.

Everything else other than the Superb felt like a downgrade unless I go for the big germans. Also, I don’t like the way new Superb drives. It has become a proper limousine. If I am settling for a compromised handling I thought would rather buy the Kodiaq given that it is getting a proper DCC.

Just made an advance booking for a Lava Blue L&K Kodiaq.
