Me too hoping GP to be launched by sooner-than-April (as I have to buy a car by that time).

I am not much concerned about the looks(of Punto and not that of Aunty

).I hope it comes with a good engine and handles well.

It will definitely be coming with a 1.3 MJD and 1.2L petrol engine and may be an option of 1.6 petrol engine like the Palio.It should definitely handle well and be sporty as Punto Abarth has been built on the Grande punto(of course with many performance oriented mods)

Aren't we all missing Sidindica with his ground breaking scoops?
or is it too early to expect considering the expected launch date?

By the way, Punto is a fantastic hatch and is the only genuine competitor to VW hatches (synonymous to Maruti 800/Altos in India) in Switzerland (don't know about the rest of EU).

But still did'nt get why is xylo getting mentioned and bashed in every thread possible.

I am out of words,

1) You discuss a Linea thread, we see xylo getting bashed.
2) You discuss the Indicruze, we see xylo getting bashed.
3) You discuss Grande Punto, we again see xylo getting bashed.
4) You discuss Sumo Grande, we still see xylo getting bashed.
5) You discuss Scorpio, we continue seeing xylo getting bashed.
6) You discuss ANHC, we see xylo getting bashed.
7) You discuss Innova, we see xylo getting bashed.
8) You discuss on Safari Thread, xylo gets bashed again.
9) You discuss a classic or a vintage car, xylo gets bashed.
10) Finally during Xylo discussion thread, again it gets bashed

I request all members to stop being so aggressive, spare the MUV which was trying to become a Super Sedan

Thanks to all Pune Team-BHPns. GP looks really good. If the interiors are like Linea and comes with modified 1.3 MJD in close to 6LK OTR. this will be my next car by June-July 2009. I am closely watching the all new AVEO-UVA too...

For me the interesting factor is how will TATA react to GP launch as it will be a direct competitor to its Vista Aura.
Infact by then i think Vista with ABS and Airbags would be launched as well. Interestint to see!

Don't you think that the GP will be a little too expensive for that. Already the Vista is a steal. Won't it be difficult for the GP to match it?

In the 2nd pic, there are two badges masked, one is Punto badge. what could be the other one? trim level (emotion, dynamic etc) or is it multijet badge?

Punto will be priced higher than Vista, so shouldn't really be a problem there.

Looks neat but more or less kinda U-VA or I-20 to me... hope Fiat guys price it in range unlike Hyundai did for I-20
