I dont know what it calls, but there are rounded rubber beneath the rear shock absorber. You have 5 year old palio means those would has definitly gone, similler to my case. I have replaced it and significant improvement can be seen.

I think you're talking about the bump stoppers. They prevent the suspension from bottoming out beyond a certain limit.
Changing them should do the trick.

Fiat Lovers - Grande Punto In India!!

Hi guys!
Here is good news to all – especially Fiat lovers!
Grande Punto is undergoing tests here – the pictures of the cars undergoing test are enclosed herewith. So, in all likelihood, the Punto will be launched here pretty soon.
Yesterday (Feb. 07, 2009) on the Bangalore – Pune highway, near Khed Shivapur, I saw a convoy of five cars. Luckily I had my camera with me!. Grabbed some pictures, before the drivers saw me and took off.
What I saw were four white masked cars and a bigger sedan between them (which I first mistook for Bravo – it was beyond 7 pm, and could not see clearly. Closer look revealed it to be the Linea, probably with a bigger engine undergoing test with the Puntos.)
To get to the point, there were four Puntos, one was slightly different – it had a black bumpers. Think it must be four different engine versions – the back of one the pictures reveals one to be a 1.4 litre.
Managed to peep inside one – picture did not come out well – the interiors were two tone (appeared to beige and brown), distinctly orange backlit console, and steering mounted controls – I
think there was windows logo as well (Blue & Me in the Punto also?)
The driver of one the cars told me (after he saw that my car was Palio) that these cars are different (“yeh gadi aap chaley te tho aap pagal ho jayega, sir!” – was his comment)
Caught up the convoy on the highway near Baner (just ahead of Pratham Motors) – they had a head start and driven by more experienced drivers – so my driving at 80+ took well
over 10 minutes to catch up – guess the cars are pretty fast.

Will it have a blue logo? The removed logo area suggests so?

Looks really good with good alloys, wide tyres. Higher up Rear lights gives a feeling of tallboy. GC seems to be good enough. Exhaust seems to be on the left and the fuel tank on the right. Lot of unique stuff.

No It wont. Fiat has completely changed the Logo to the cherry red one across all the models.

Does any one have any idea about how to post on that CEO Corner in FIAT-INDIA web site. Every time I get this error message
"Please enter Proper data.

Any BHPIANs can help me out here??

the blue logo was created from older (red) fiat logos with the wreath for their centennial and launched in July 1999 on the occasion of Fiat's hundredth anniversary. This brand mark was the renowned round shield of the Twenties, featuring a band of laurels around a blue field.

the new "red" logo is also actually an older 1920-30's logo that has been re-styled, and the new symbol is derived from the famous shield that decorated the front of Fiat cars from 1931 to 1968.

So the blue logo will be not be back.

Looks nice... FIAT is revamping them self in Sluggish market.
By the way the BackLight position is nice. Looks pretty attractive. But i dont understand why the make the WIDE Bumper is back side with small door. This makes difficult to load/unload luaggage. The same thing happens is SWIFT/GETZ...

@VPrabhu, thats a brilliant scoop. If you have the original pictures with you in the higher resolution, can you find out what is written on the rear-windshield for the car with the registration MH12-TC-314? Might be a new engine option.

the PUG community today had an update from the CEO of Fiat claiming that the punto should be launched within the 1st quarter of 2009. this is great news. i genuinely hope they put in a big petrol engine into it and see another generation of people going mad over this version, just like what happened when the palio GTX was launched in india back in 01.

Great scoop prabhu. this car could turn around the future or fiat india, if priced competitively. Like i believe it turned the parent company around too. I'm seriously thinking of this as my next set of wheels. FE, power, and performance in a neat package. time to save up
