May be as with SB308's made to order variants would also have been there for SS80's. Nevertheless this should be one of its kind!
Nice scoop doc!

Finally compressed the pictures to fit it inhere. Have a look.

I regularly see this car in Pune - I doubt it is the oldest, as the first car was white, delivered to a Sardarji in Delhi who I think should still have it.

Aah yes, you're right about that! And I too didnt believe this could be the oldest SS80 around, I had used the word 'interesting' with another meaning!

It has the AC tinted glass but no beig seat covers nor the beig carpet. The car has not been used in last six years.had got an lpg kit installed just a week before it was standid as i got my new wagon R. Now am in two minds wether to redo the car or to sell it and buy the new alto k10.The Ac on the ss80 has not been working for quiet sometime. the engine and the body are in good shape.i replaces the new seal beam with the morden things as one of them has fused.if i have to do up the inteiors and the ac and the tyres how much will it cost me

Dear vishvesshpoddar,

Congrats on having held on to the SS80 for so long.
Regarding the car, since the engine and body is fine the cost on restoring wouldnt hurt much.

Since the A/C had a Sanden SD-507 Compressor that was quite popular for Retrofitment for Maruti 800. So any issues with the compressor would be repairable. Also from my experience of restoring a long unused ac system the total cost would be around 4-5k. Including Refrigerant, seals and Gaskets. also the Receiver Unit also could need replacement.

the SS80 does bring back awesome childhood memories. The first car in India (at least in the volumes that it was here) which had the rear windscreen independently openable !! As kids we would have a blast riding in the back with the window open...what a thrill in those days !!
