The 0-100 dash of the Fabia is just 1second slower than Octavia 1.9TDi according to skoda.co.uk , seems to be quick enough.

Skoda Octavia - 13.5
Peted Octavia - 11.5 (estimate)

Skoda Fabia - 14.8
Peted Fabia - 12.8 (estimate)

So a peted fabia is just a niche up in performance compared to stock Swift DDiS.Just felt like making a quick comparo cause am so excited! Will die for a Black fabia, peted, 16" Momos.. WOW!!

Also I dont see any similarities between Swift and Fabia from any angle. Please suggest any one angle which looks alike.I see more of SRV and Palio mix.

6.5 Lacs Ex Showroom for Top end Diesel ( Incl SunRoof / Airbags / Alloys )

So it really is a VFM from Skoda this time.
I talked with the Skoda India directly over the phone and the price mentioned for the higher-end diesel OTR is going to be 8.5 Lacs approximately.

If the dealer in Agra is telling you that the higher-end diesel version OTR price is 7.5 Lacs then I would say that is pretty good deal. If that is the case then I will be first in line to buy the Fabia. Seriously.

Earlier I was thinking about higher-end Diesel. Now that I learned the price is going to be 8.5L OTR then I started looking at the higher-end Petrol which I was told 1L cheaper than the diesel.

Well a Peted Octy does sub 11 seconds to a 100 and so does a Peted Swift, so expect the Fabia to be sub 11 as well, as power to weight and torque to weight of these cars are quite similar.

Plus for Skoda cars you have the remaps.

Edit check this link, 10.75seconds to a ton.

I don't what you mean by That website again!.

This site is much better than the skoda india regular website at : home. I was trying to look at the Octi and other models offered in India and the pictures resolution is awful.

This new website they launched just for Fabia is much better in terms of the picture resolution etc.

I know they could have done better in terms of the navigation but the content overall is much better quality than what I have seen before from Skoda india website.

Delhi / Agra OTR Prices are much cheaper than Bangalore and Bombay Prices - There could be a difference of 30k or so in Reg Prices.

Also If Skoda offers a Premium Hatchback for 8.5 OTR - I do not think people are going to buy it - Look at what happened to the SRV !!

Even I would rather go for the Verna / Fiesta / OPtra Magnum if I am paying 8.5.

So I think 7.5 is also risking it up.

Reason why people would go for this is the amazing Features / FE / SKoda Build.

I hope Skoda prices it fine. I am going to buy it then for sure.

Its a different engine. The link refers to a tdi engine whereas the new one has a PD engine.

I agree, Id happily pay upto 7.5 OTR for the fully loaded Diesel variant. Anything more than that and Im going to have to think twice.

I have stopped my shopping for a car and waiting to see how the Skoda prices the Diesel higher end version. If it is over 7.5 OTR price then I have to start shopping again for a car.

Like some of you have mentioned 8.5 Lacs OTR for a diesel way too much and again it jumps into the Sedan category cars.
