Re: Fuel Price Thread

Anybody knows if HPCL and IOC have hiked the price in Pune as of now? As of yesterday, only BPCL had hiked the rates... hence asking.

Will know the answer when i tank up next ( next week). Any idea whats the difference with Shell? If not much difference may think of moving to Shell to see if it really makes a difference.

Re: Fuel Price Thread

And now I've come to a point where I can afford a car but not the fuel. The way things are going it's going to be the death knell for petrol cars.

Re: Fuel Price Thread

I guess the Govt does not want people to travel by cars, but they want us to walk everywhere.

Thats not the way to save environment.

Re: Fuel Price Thread

how am i going to feed my baby???

It seems the oil companies are increasing the prices if the price of crude oil goes up. But they are not bringing it down if it comes down. They wait at the same level till the next price increase of crude oil...

Re: Fuel Price Thread

DELHI: State-owned oil companies today raised petrol prices by Rs 2.50-Rs 2.54 per litre, the second hike in a month.
Wow. That's almost a 10% hike in the past 2 months. Now it kind scares me. With this rate the day when petrol reaches Rs100/liter is not far.
And its not just petrol. Only yesterday the newspaper had an article about CNG prices rising by around 8% spread over the next few months. It's like the government saw this opportunity and struck.

Re: Fuel Price Thread

the reason is high taxes, apart from prices of crude.
we have not yet lost the socialistic mind set, and tax everything perceived to be 'luxury' heavily. instead of ad valorem, the government should have fixed duties on things like fuel.as the consumption is increasing, the revenues will also increase.
most people will happily take to public transport, if there is enough of it, so that you do not travel 'cattle class', and you do not have to walk much to get to it.
