Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Slight relief for everyone. Honestly, did not expect them to reduce the prices.

Now they going to use this till 2024 elections and people being gullible will celebrate as if they're doing some favours ! Petrol is still above 100₹/litre !!
People need to ask questions why the heck excise duty is increased so much

Correction : Not on the eve of Diwali, but On the eve of upcoming elections and not so favorable results in the recent bye election.

This cannot be termed as price cut, this is just a small break in looting.

Still the fuels are priced insanely high.

True. And I will not be surprised if they bring the prices back to what they are today, by the end of this month, by increasing a few paise every day.

How biased is our media, when the prices increase they mention "oil companies" rise fuel prices for x number of consecutive days.

Now it's "Govt of India" that has reduced the prices to save the middle class people.

Wow!

Well, some hint is already there in the official PIB release.

Before there is any change is mind, I will go for a full tank tomorrow, which will be more than enough for me until end of December 2021

I doubt that was the case few months ago. More like few years ago. IIRC diesel was at 70INR way back in mid 2018.
Price was very well within 70 Rs in June 2020. This is a Shell receipt, so the average price should've been 65 Rs.

Another one in March 2020 is attached too.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Anyone here thinks this was well planned a few weeks back so as to give us a Diwali "gift" right on time?

Increase bit by bit and slash suddenly on Diwali BIG DHAMAKA!! Now everyone will forget about the increase until they start again and then drop it down during election and become our saviors!!

Today's reduction is in excise. Above would reflect in base price.

We Always fall for this!! Increase the price by Rs-/ 50 and then give a Rs-/0.50 paise reduction - or call it a Festival/Great Indian Sale

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

This reminds me of Amazon diwali sale and flipkart big billion sale. Prices creep up slowly leading up to the big day and then suddenly you get a price cut and the consumers leap with joy!

Anyways any respite is welcome. Otherwise inspite of looming winters we were all sweltering with rising fuel bills.

Cheers and happy Diwali folks!

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

I wonder if there is any ideal retail price for fuel that we should set our sights on. We are at the mercy of two factors (crude as well levies) with the former being particularly fickle and the latter well, short sighted to say the least. The end users will merely continue to ride the tide of fuel prices, with no perfect solution to this imported commodity
