Oh dear....

I don't have a problem with the side profile, and the rear design is okay too. But the FRONT Man, what the heck was Mahindra thinking??!! The face looks hideous and they have wiped off a good part of the urban market with the design. Mahindra should have known better; one of the reasons behind the Xylo's sub-par market performance is the ugly looks (product wise, it is perhaps better than the Scorpio).

Man, I don't care if the Aria cost 2 lakhs more than the XUV, or even 3. It looks so much classier, give me the understated, elegant Aria any which day. It is once again proven that the Tata design team rocks, and Mahindra's design team sucks.

I might add that it's really the front bumper & the grille that are ugly. Hope some after-market modifiers (Autopsyche??) come up with simple, bolt-on plastic kits. Then, we're talking.

Damn.. I also like the looks :( Overall size, posture, shape etc. The only thing I dont like is front bumper.. Now big question is price. It will be difficult for M&M to convince customers to leave top model of Scorpio and buy base variant of XUV500, nope not possible.

Except the front grill, other aspects are looking ok to good to be, but as someone mentioned, it is for a 12L range, if it is priced more then the look is not upto that mark

Don't know if this is because it is a pre-prod piece or what, but the front door and front fender shutlines are pretty bad. Could be the camera angle, though.

This is the personification of a "love it or hate it" design. However, over time I think we'll get used to it. For what it offers (interiors), I guess one could live with the exterior quirks. Not that nothing can be done about the front, I'm sure there will be a lot of modded ones

PS. The tail looks like a badly copied Captiva, when viewed in the full, side profile is like the Evoque with changes. The front is all..l Mahindra

Not really - first there was a person with a skirt and shorts doing a "Tango" then you get short changed! No price! And yes a lot of discussion on the skirt-ing(bumper)!

I am already thinking of what mods to make on the front end! But then again that end is in your rearview!

Call it whatever you may like, but the overall design is definitely quirky.
But hey, contrary to most others views regarding the front, I kind of like it. Not the rear end though.

I think the vehicle looks quite good actually. Mebbe not soo much in white, but better in black and darker colours. I think I'm ready to trade in my 4month old Scorpio VLX for the XUV if the "price is right".

YUCK!! This thing is an eyesore. Look at those ugly wheel arches, the hideous grill and the tasteless panel below rear viper + the even worse rear bumper. They've royally spoiled the otherwise nice profile of this SUV. In comparison the Tata Aria even with it's MUVish design looks a lot more elegant and tasteful.

Not surprising considering their other recent designs and the fact they own Ssangyong.
