Are we supposed to pronounce it as man-za (normal 'man', then a 'za') or maan-za? I would have loved to be in the meeting where the Tata Marketing execs signed off on this name.

I am hoping that the car would be much better than the name. E.g. Wagon-R.

At least if they called it Monza it might bring to car enthusiasts mind memories of speed, Ferrari and F1.

Why is everyone looking into Spanish, Japanese, Congolese meanings of Manza?? Manza is nothing but the thread you use to fly kits. Its very thin and can cut through hands and even necks. So there!

@ mayavi, the thread for a kite is called 'MANJA' and not 'MANZA'.

definitely a derivation from monza i think, as people will laugh if it is named so.

Arre give it a break guys. They had to name it something and so they coined a word. What's the big deal? Would you guys have been happy had they called it Blueberry Muffin?

The point here is how good the car is. We will know that soon. If it is really any good I do not think buyers will mind what it is called.

Manza or Monza...it does not matter for me if the car is good.... We have more worst car names like...

few eg:
A-Star.... what star!!??
Punto... for common people in India it's a funny name
Spark - isnt it funny to name a cute car Spark...???
Wagon R- What R!!!?

It is good for the guys whose better half's name is Manasa...They can say like 'Gharwali is Manasa baharwali is Manza' :-)

"Manza" baffles me. I sincerely believe TATA Motors is a victim of a conspiracy hatched by the British/Europeans to get revenge for the J & LR buyout , among other things. Firstly, they design awkward looking, ungainly cars for TATA Motors and to add insult to injury they suggest comical names too, i'm sure. The neglible export sales for TATA cars is my proof. As far as the Indian employees of TATA Motors, do they really care?. Dull , ugly and underperforming sells well or is highly popular in India, including ideas!.
