Well all I can say is that this Vios looks much better than the Etios. From the photos , the Etio seems to be shorter than the Vios.

front kinda reminds me of the Subaru Impreza, especially in this colour. Overall, a BIG disappointment.

The pics...Arrgh!!

Pretty disappointing.
Leave alone us, even my wifey dear says that the car looks too too plain jane and bland to be considered for purchase.

And I guess she is pretty correct about noting the car.
Hope the production version looks better than this crap!!

+1 to that.
Nothing good to write about the exterior of the car.
Appears to be a hybrid of our ritz and santro. The central console too appears
to be off putting. Lets wait for engine specs.

Looks wise its disappointing no doubt.

+1 to that. The Vios first generation looks far better than the Etios and also more family like, easily identifiable. The Etios sedan looks as if Logan got another of the grill job avatars.
The Etios hatch exterior is tolerable(compared to A star, Ritz,Dzire)but the interior is weird. What is with central A/C vents, Vertically placed? Novel yes but looks odd. I hope the actual car looks better.

This is a Toyota???
Cheap and gaudy interiors and why the center console?
Sincerely hope that this is just a concept.
But I guess, even if it is productionized, the Toyota badge and the possible mouth watering price (mentioned as <4 lakh on an earlier post by sidindica) will ring in some serious numbers.

I wonder if the Etios sedan is actually a facelifted Logan that has been badged as a Toyota by mistake

Thanks Dippy. The design is not that appealing and the Etios' appearance appears to be straight out from the design studios in Japan. Some Euro touches that exemplify and make any small car stand out in the design stakes are totally missing.
But criticism apart, the Etios will gobble up the sales of many competitors in the B segment as it is a TOYOTA!

When i first saw the visuals of etios sedan on TV today morning,i actually mistake it for new logan

For hatchback i was okay with the exteriors but i am utterly shocked to see the shabby interiors

I hope the only good thing is you will get a diesel hatchback at a lower price when compared to competition

You mean C segment right? I don't think it's gonna affect the sales much. It's a Toyota and it's bound to be expensive. And i don't see any USP in this car. I think even the Linea will sell more than the Etios.

Personally I am happy at the space at the rear the hatch and also perhaps the sedan has to offer. dash is different but nothing i cant live without. what matters now is the (killer) pricing and the FE.
