Welcome back Mustang Now the thread is "red hot" once again ! Why would you need "traction control" for a 90 PS car? Isnt it to prevent the wheel spins - does it help in slippery conditions as well?

And that video is super cool - not sure who will allow such racing to be done inside a super market. And the stunts in the sea!

Amazing! Hill Assist is one very very useful feature. The international Linea always had it, but it never made to India. Sad! At last. Ofcourse Volvo XC60 has it already and I think Skoda Yeti top end also has it. But they are 20 lacs+ cars. Got to ignore them for now.

Awesome video that Mustang! My favorite part was - "Is it green" - Yes, very. (How Brit)

May be Shapur Kotwal will try something like that on Bloomberg UTV, or is it going to be Abhishek Bachchan saying Go Fida Returns

Mustang, this may not be the right place to post this, but do you have any updates on the 1.6 Petrol Figo?
Thanks

No info and probably plans have been scrapped as the fiesta hatch will be coming soon too.

Not sure and probably not.
I think it will be most likely in Q1 2012.

Hope not. Somehow for me, the actors and the car they endorse does not gel very well – like the example you mentioned. Just my personal opinion and this can be a topic for a completely different discussion.

Back to Fiesta now

+1 to that. Maybe manufacturers should pick up real drivers / users and feature them in their ads. Lots of folks from the forum may be interested.

Would save the company a neat packet on advertising expenses as well.

The new life in this thread has me logging in every few hours, even though life is as busy as it can get professionally.

We have ventured inadvertently into a very grey area namely branding/advertising. It is not as if Yuvraj SIngh ever uses Revital to cope with "yeh bhaag daud bhari zindagi" or Shahrukh drives an i10 or Kareena ever uses Lux (do they still sell it?). It is about which ambassador appeals to what kind of people and adds what kind of aspirational value to masses that look up to them. Perhaps, when it comes to cars, none of us Tbhpians will go by these brand endorsers or TV ads, but the masses will, and it is the masses that make or break a product, auto or otherwise.

And I'm sure Ranbir Kapoor batting for Micra has more impact than Karun Chandhok, and thats why he gets hired. As for the bang for the buck for endorser fees, lets leave that analysis to the managers in the company

The TopGear video was great! So now I know that when I buy my new Ford Fiesta, I will be able to speed about in Gurgaon's Ambience mall with total abandon.

Saw the Car and Bike Show today. And I was surprised when show claimed the New Fiesta will have a new 1.4L Duratorq diesel and not 1.6!

(And Siddharth claimed, this is confirmed!)

re: New Ford Fiesta Unveiled : Report & Pics - Page 46

Hi folks, I spotted the Fiesta Classic (repositioned existing model) testing today in Chennai-Trichy Highway.

Since I was driving when I took these photos, I could only manage only these two blurred shots. The "Classic" sticker was available just below the Fiesta badge.

As expected, it was a stripped down variant with black door handles, mirrors, rear number plate garnish etc. The slot for the front foglamps too were empty. I managed to peep into the interiors and there was no visible cost cutting though there will surely be some feature-cutting to reduce it's prices.

But, one thing has to be said. The Fiesta Classic with its still-fresh 'Kinetic Design' elements looked really classy from the front but the rear looks a little dated. All I would say is its going to be more than a worthy match and successor to the Ikon, if priced in the same range.

MODS: I have posted the Fiesta Classic shots in the New Fiesta thread. If its not appropriate, please move it to a new thread.
