The Falcon is a Australia specific model and a much bigger one. They may use the Verve for the new model and continue to sell the old model as the Fiesta.

Don't know if anybody noticed around here, but this is what Hormazd Sorabjee (Editor: AutocarIndia) tweeted on Jan 22.

That will be fantastic. Personally I feel the current Fiesta looks much better than the Etios.

Well then probably the 1.6 duratec will have to be tuned for better fuel efficiency as currently the etios promises to be one of the most fuel efficient sedan in its price range. The ford handling and steering should anyway be e bit bettet than the etios in its current avtar.

Inquired the release date of the new fiesta in Metro Ford, Bangalore. They said that the sedan would be launched in Mar 2011.

From what I know, the launch may not be before May/June 2011. It is good that the Fiesta is getting a new lease of life. I still feel that 1.6 may be axed.

Info from a dealer
- New fiesta sometime between Mar-May timeframe - with 1.6 petrol and diesel - likely to be positioned in the Honda City segment at 9.5 to 10.5 lacs ex-showroom
- Existing fiesta lower variant (EXI, ZXI?) likely to be retained/ repositioned to compete with Etios/ Dzire etc
- Higher variant (SXI) may be shelved to not cannabalize the new fiesta

Thats absolutely mouth watering, thinking of a prune down Fiesta at the pricing levels of Etios. I am sure going to queue up for that. I am just Hoping for the best.

But I dounbt if Fiesta (Classic) would match the price point of Etios. But anyway you never know they might have some trick up thier sleeve like what they did for the Figo.

I saw this black suite wearing car being test a week's back in velachey road near pallikaranai in Chennai.

Is it Ford Fiesta ?

I think its is the new Verna? Just taking a guess from the not too tall boot and the mirros.

Yes. Its the 2011 Verna. Fiesta's antenna is at the front.

I have been smitten and eagerly following-up and waiting for the Fiesta hatch for the past 1 year. It will be my first car. First someone said, it will come at 2010-end, then someone said 2011-feb, now it has gone to 2011-may. When will it ever come?

i'm smitten by the hatch version of this, and that looks later than the Sedan from the couple of post here.i'd guess, Ford is going easy on this because of Figo's success
