Thanks. That is quite a respite. So I wait for 1.6D hatch for next year!

Whoa ... a 1.6 petrol in 7-8 range and a 1.6 TDCI in the range of 8-9 lakhs, along with all the exterior looks and interior goodies ... could be KILLER pricing ! That would be cheaper than the Vento and the ANHC for comparable petrol/ diesel trims. You think thats possible?
I think it is more or less done. Personally, I would like it to even beat the 7 Lac barrier.

Way to go, Ford !!! Ford cars have always been brilliant to drive and diesels have been ever-so-frugal - and if the pricing gets sorted out - the fiesta classic and new fiesta combine could scare the hell out of the competition in both segments.

Oh I forget - the chauffer-driven seths will still go with the low-to-maintain dzires and the super-spacious manzas and etios! :(

Ford might just shock us all with the pricing and the engine. With the Figo they have realized that Pricing is the Key in India. One of my friends who work for Ford told me that they are working on the engine costs and that is whats really delaying the launch. Hope they dont decide to remove a cylinder as other's are doing these days.

Though there is still confusion in the diesel engine its sure to be another shocker pricing from Ford.

Mustang, are u referring to the sedan? If so where does it leave the space for the hatch back which will be priced lower [ideally] ? I am having some serious confusion. Could you elaborate if your job permits ?

That's fantastic!
I can see a new found confidence with Ford, after the launch of Figo. And I have a feeling that they are going to play the price factor very well to their favour with the upcoming Fiesta.

re: New Ford Fiesta Unveiled : Report & Pics - Page 46

An update from Motoroids website, they have a couple of pics there as well:

Visible changes on the car include black body plastics in certain places such as mirrors and door handles. The number plate garnish too gets the black plastic treatment. The Fiesta in its new avatar will try to fill in the boots of the Ikon by providing an affordable, yet capable car to value seekers and taxi operators.

****

Personally, i think if the petrol block remains the same @ 100 BHP and the OTR prices are less than 6L, the so called Fiesta Classic is going to be a HIT.

I just checked the OTR for a Fiesta Limited Edition (Petrol) here in Delhi and it comes out to be 6.3L. So potentially when the new Fiesta is launched, these prices could go down further.

Even for that matter, the Ikon, as everbody here must be knowing that the production has ceased, can be a great buy in a Non BS4 city and then it can be moved to a BS4 city (TDCi here). Close to 4.5 - 5L OTR for a diesel Ikon is a STEAL.

Happy Motoring !!

You're refering to the new Ford Fiesta sedan at 7 Lakh??

That would be an awesome price point, even if it's for the lowest variant!

I am really looking forward to the launch now so that I can do a TD.

What are the chances that the high end variant will have Auto Climate Control? I really want ACC in my next car, and wish Ford would get it onboard the new Fiesta.

Aha,wondeful price if that is true.

I do not want to start praising yet as even Vento petrol starts from 6.99 Ex showroom but that has no feature at all. I hope Ford will give us better features in the basic version.

Now after the hatchback segment fight, all the manufactures are focusing on sedan, Hyundai , Ford are joining it with their fresh cars.

Autocar says that the ride and handling of the fiesta is miles ahead of the current benchmark, i.e, Fiat Linea. If what they say is true, then it will be one heck of a car. They also say that the EPS is one of the best they have ever experienced. The only negative aspect is the interior space. Hope Ford prices it sensibly.

I am referring to the new fiesta sedan petrol ex-showroom delhi price.
You will get ACC, maybe even in the mid range model. That you would come to know only when the company discloses it officially but i have a feeling that it will come in the mid-range model too.

I'd love to see VW morons scurrying for cover during April / May after the new Fiesta and Verna are launched. They carried it too far (looking at general feel of VW dealer attitude and delivery delays from other threads)

God Bless Competition!

+ 1.

Was reading Autocar magazine, and i had to go back and read this sentence again to see if i got it right!

Better than Linea, and way ahead of anything else in the competition, including old fiesta. Thats a delightful statement, and I hope the pricing will be even better as Mustang says!
