Please try the bhp used car price check tool and Indian blue book, also the carwale calculator if you're buying from a dealer.

That is a very heavily used figo and while the engine is excellent .. the price will come down just due to the extremely heavy use.

Then so many other questions for you to consider, what condition are the tyres and battery in, how long is the insurance valid etc

My suggestion is to stay away, unless the car is being sold by a known source. As per my knowledge, if not maintained well, the Tdci engines may not to be as reliable as Fiat Multijet/Toyota engines post 1 Lakh km. There is every chance that the car might spend more time with the mechanic than yourself.

If you still intend to buy, anything under 2L would be my suggestion, also keep aside a substantial amount(50k-70k) to be prepared for any surprise repairs.

Still haven't bought this, I've got to go on a business trip for all of next week and have requested the dealer to hold onto the vehicle after paying an advance.

I'll pick it up only in early July and will update the thread then.

What could be the best price if I have to exchange it in Chennai itself or if I sell it in Bangalore.
if you are going to be staying deep south (OMR , especially sholinganallur onwards) there is almost zero risk involved ( I have been driving a KL reg car for 5 years now. Have been caught for multiple other offences, but the topic of KL reg has never come up)

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Finalized on Fiesta 1.6 SXI 2011 40000kms run car. Neatly maintained car with all service records. No accident history. Would it be wiser to buy 6yr old car and maintain it for next 4-5 yrs. I am still Fida with that 1.6 Duratec engine. Usage both city & highways.

Else, other option is SX4 1.6 VVT 2012 35000kms run car. Neatly maintained without any accident history.

From the mechanics, I found maintaining Fiestas will be bit extensive and SX4 can be maintained due to MASS network.

Kindly advice.

When you're on highway rides MASS is any day much easier to locate than Ford but that gap is being closed. Ensure the car is checked over before you take it onto the highway regardless of which one you buy, and it should be ok

Yes. Maintaining a fiesta will be slightly more strenuous than any maruti or Hyundai. You've got weigh in your desire for the 1.6 versus the wait for parts at an fng it the pain of Ford a. S. S.

My suggestion: stay away from both cars as they are out of production, and already 5-6 years old. Try to increase your budget a bit more, and buy a 1-year old 10-12K on odo car; a sedan or a suitable big hatch.

1.5 lakh- 2 lakh is what I think you should get considering the dolphin Honda city if the car is in good condition on the outside. I would say an individual might buy it for 1.75-2 but you will be hard pressed to get more than 1.5 from a dealer.

Yes vehicle is in good external condition. I was expecting in this range but about 10% more given that Hyderabad prices are normally on the higher side.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hello guys,
I am toying with an idea of going the used car way for my next purchase. I was thinking of getting a 2012-2015 Toyota Altis petrol but have dropped it from my list as it will be expensive to maintain in the long run. I plan to retain the car for 5 years or more.

Now am thinking about 2015 Honda City, preferably the VX CVT model. IBB rates this car at around INR 8.72 to 8.92L, do you think that's a fair value for this car? I can see some cars listed on carwale within this price range but majority of them are upwards of 11L. Do you think buying this car makes sense?

Looking forward to your inputs.

Regards

It depends on your requirement. For a no-nonsense workhorse, the SX4 will do the job just fine. Highway stability is good, and fuel efficiency figures for both are similar. It does run out of steam post 120kph though, plus there's a lot of road noise that filters into the cabin.
But if you are looking for something that takes you from A to B with a grin plastered on your face, then I would suggest you to go for the Fiesta.

P.S : I am on the verge of buying a used 2011 Fiesta myself. If you don't mind, can I PM you on what things you looked for while inspecting yours?
