One of My cousin sold his 2007 Swift VDI in October 2012 with 1.20 lacs on ODO for Rs 3.70 Lacs to an individual buyer in Navi Mumbai.

One of My Wife's cousin sold his 2007 Swift VDI in November 2012 with 1.80 Lacs on ODO for 3.00 Lacs to an individual buyer in Thane.

So i think for a 2008 VDI model, if the deal is in Bangalore it should definitely command some more premium.

The car seems to have done very less kms. I don't find a reason why this car cannot go for atleast 4.5L in south india, especially Bangalore.

Prices in South are slightly more than Mumbai/Delhi. But I am just wondering whether with the Petrol prices having cooled off after that Rs6/7 hike, whether diesel car resale should also cool off a bit

@dsvikki - pls send me a pm reg your post - thanks ( i am unable to message you )

Hi Guys. SwiftVXI march 2010,38000 kms. (16 and 12 kms/lt ) with music system, ABS and LPG fitted. Asking 3.75L, and may settle for 3.5L . Is this price very good ? How much max cost can occur immediately say tyres, battery etc ( I will have that checked with mechanic) . Carwale avg valuation is 3.08L

40K in 2 years is a bit high. I suggest you start at 3.25L. Tyre cost - ~4500 per tyre, Battery - ~7K. (Dealer price could be ~9K) Your battery should be good if there wasn't much night drives / heavy ICE in the car.

Also please check the brakes, Swift brake pads do an average 35-40K. I guess those should be towards the end of life, ~2K for replacement.

Edit: Guess 40K service will cost you close to 5K, include this cost as well please.

I have come across a single owner silky silver 2009 november Ritz LDI converted to VDI clocked 52000kms with 2 new front tyres and battery. Insurance valid till nov2013. However I have not seen the car yet and the owner is asking 4.30L. I feel 4L should be a good deal.

Daewoo Matiz anyone?

This might sound like I am referring to stone age here but I have a Daewoo Matiz SD, year 2000 model and done around 55000 km. Never met a major accident but has quite a few scratches due to its driving in the dreaded Bangalore traffic for over a decade. Tyres were recently changed and have done not more than 5000km.

Any pointers as to how much I could expect for the same?

I am planning to pass it on in one of the "exchange offers" that are currently being offered by various companies!

Hello,

Are you seriously looking to buy a Car with LPG kit installed that has already done 38000 kms.
I will suggest to instead to buy a Petrol only Swift & then install CNG / LPG kit based on fuel availability in your city.

Buy the way I feel Rs. 3.5 lacs is on higher side for March 2010 Swift that has already done 38000 kms on LPG Kit. I would offer only Rs. 3 lacs for this Car.

Also consider cost of approx Rs. 5000 per tyre & Rs. 5000 / 6000 for the Battery. Also 40,000 kms service will cost you more than Rs. 5000.

Thanks,

Hi Jignesh,
Thanks for reply. I didnt understand one thing, what do you mean by "already done 38000 kms on LPG kit " ! Do you mean LPG kit damages Engine etc ? and then 38k is too much ?
Also my usage will be quite low, I dont need LPG-CNG as such, km/lt too doesnt matter.

If you dont need LPG, then don't buy a car that has one. Running an engine on LPG/CNG does take some toll on the engine and life of the engine is affected for the worse.

I suggest you look at those cars that don't have lpg. You will probably pay lesser as well.

Exactly, now you have got the point, if your usage is not much than why go for Used Car with LPG kit.

See for a normal Petrol / Diesel Car 38000 kms on ODO is nothing. You can safely assume that if well maintained engine will perform good beyond 1,00,000 kms. But LPG kit in Swift is not factory fitted & it is installed by local garages, which in many cases are not authorized. Thus the impact on engine performance is always in doubt. Also the LPG / CNG kit has to be endorsed on RC Book, which you need to check whether current owner has done or not.

Now coming to your usage which will be quite low, then why not go for only Petrol Car which will give you piece of mind & also the boot space will be free for overnight out-station tours.

Thanks,

Hi Jignesh, Thanks again.
Actually I am not going after LPG-Diesel as such, it is a petrol car and just happened to be a car with lpg ! I dont find many (or any) used swift or a good priced WagonR too will do too. ! used car dealers ask approx 4L for swift and 2.5-3.2L for wagonR, for 3-4 year old petrol cars. (I am not willing to spend much (or undepreciated car ) because it is just for occasional need). if it can serve me 5-10000 kms over few years then it will be ok ! Any suggestion what I should be looking for ? (any maintenance free 5 seater other than nano and alto !!! )
