Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Most of the posts in the thread have been based on desirability rather than on ownership, Does this make justice to the poll? Guys pls dont draw the daggers on me, just my thoughts.

Mods - Can Alto K10 also be included in the poll.

Well i definitely voted the figo based on owner experience. I have been driving the figo since April this year and trust me when initially i did not see much of them plying around i was worried. Now i see a lot of them around which indicates its popularity and VFM.

Vento it is for me! Atlast a sedan which is reachable (read affordability), packs a punch with a nice build quality and at the same time does not look like a cross breed

In linea T-jet, it was just the engine with increased power.

Nope, they are entirely different. The WagonR is a new car (as in, new platform, new body etc.).

If anyone wants to discuss this further, please use the suggestions thread.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

I have voted for Ford Figo and the reason is that the company has actually created an admirable space for itself in a crowded hatch segment. This it has done through sheer quality (which means no compromises), refinement and thorough customer knowledge

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

i vote for FIGO, without any hesitation.

first of all its not offensive, not quirky, not plane jane too you really cant complain about the way it looks. also its big, safe, good handler, has very low cost of ownership. you can take it on highways for a cruise , its stays chill with a big A/c compressor, loads of leg room, has a ye olde 4 cylinder engine. unlike my other fav's polo and micra. its the only proper hatch which you can take it on highway cruise and the car which provides safety features(dual airbags ABS)@ lower price than anyone. yes the beat is kinda cheaper but i feel its more of a city car. so there should be no doubts really.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

My vote goes to the ford figo. Ford has done an excellent job for a car of this segment. Styling, performance, features: You name it and Figo has it. Hope it goes ahead and wins th e "Team-BHP" car of the year award.

I voted for Skoda Yeti, because it has everything that Indian driving condition needed. Good diesel engine, 4 wheel drive, nice GC, compact and looks good.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

My Vote goes for the Figo. Out of all the cars launched in India in 2010, Figo has affected the market the most. It's the car that changed the fortune of the company. Despite being in most crowded segment full of well established players with world class products the custom made for India Figo with the super VFM pricing came out as an instant hit.

It's surprising to see a Ford car in top 10 sales charts. It's not because Ford cannot make good cars but because Ford's previous cars like Ikon and Escort had a reputation for being very expensive to maintain. But then Ford has been able to price the Figo in a price bracket cheaper than even the Maruti's VFM Swift, Let's not forget Figo shares the mechanicals with the much pricier Fiesta.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Toyota Etios is yet to make it to the road. It will be a great car for India and VFM considering the safety features, life and reliability. But for 2010 it is Figo and I hope Ford keeps focus on their after service and quality. Before the launch of Figo they were literally nose diving to Bankruptcy . They changed their outlook and attitude towards quality, feautures/value adds, VFM, after sales service etc and it did wonders. This should be a learning to all companies that India Market/customers should not be considered a market where they overprice and dump or introduce degraded, pahsed out /obselete products to India. People in india are getting aware and techno savvy on quality, safety and technical features. Internet sites/blogs (mainly Team BHP) and people like us are spreading awareness and educating our people on the same . Cheers

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Voted Figo, and I can't do any more justice to the reason than what GTO has already done. Cmon, did any one think of Ford amongst all to pull something like this up?

Figo - For getting ford back on track in India. For providing sheer VFM. For getting into the crowded hatch segment and beating the odds. For maintaining the USP - drivability.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Impressive Cars as per me launched in 2010

1) Yeti
2) Figo
3) Aria
4) Vento

And all should be winners in their respective categories.

Its the Figo for which I voted though.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Have voted for the "Figo". Though loved the "Vento" equally. Didn't vote for the same, since I haven't driven it yet. Have driven only three cars in the list. Mindblowing diesel engine Figo has! Can't stop dreaming about it. Would have replaced my car, if it weren't a Palio Stile 1.6. Anyways! Figo it is for me.

As to the K10 discussion, I thought it was a new car, with extended wheelbase and all. May be it isn't a new platform, and hence excluded.

Cheers
