Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

I voted for Etios, its finally the car which Toyota Engineers spent 4 years in developing and the lowest price at which Toyota can offer a car.

Even at their lowest price, the car is a very good VFM.

Wanted to know is BMW X1 released to be called in for this years COTY ?

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

It was between Figo and Etios for me. I think Vento is a bit overpriced for what it offers, like the Honda cars. So Vento is out.

Voted for the Ford Figo...

After all the years, I got to see a big queue of trucks outside the ford factory in Chennai. All due to the Figo.

I chose the Figo only because:

2. It was a real "made for india" product. (Vento is a global product, no matter what VW may attempt to claim)
2. There is very rarely is there a product that can single handedly resurrect a brand. Figo has been successful to such a level, that it has inspired confidence in Ford to setup an additional factory!
Bang on target buddy I stand strong to the same theory. Although I do not drive a figo or any car in that segment and have never driven one at all, it indeed is a car that will make a "world of a difference" to us Indians. I only wish people stopped wasting money on other popular brands that offer nothing but value for money at zero quality or build. Personally a car with good build and dynamics as well as decent fuel efficiency should be priority and NOT the freebies or junk electronics that come with car!
Just my 2 cents I usually am a silent member, thought it was time to speak out and share whatever knowledge I can with everyone here

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Has to be the FIGO. Tremendous VFM and a fantastic Diesel Engine... You easily forget the somewhat dated exteriors once you're sitting inside the vehicle. But what matters is the sheer value this car offers. The Figo's sales figures touched the 4-figure mark in record time and thrust Ford into a territory unknown to them within weeks after the launch. Hats off!

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

My vote goes to Polo (for the 1.6 variant only), although Figo seems to be the clear winner by popular demand for everyone else.
My only grouse against Polo had been the 3 pot engine. Otherwise, it has a classy look, good build etc etc.
The Return of the Hot Hatch.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Voted for FIGO. Its launched in the most crowded segment with the likes of Maruti, Hyundai being the heavy weights. But Figo still managed to come out with its head held high. It has excellent space, descent interiors, excellent diesel engine and VFM price tag. Not many can offer this package in that segment.

Voted for Tata Aria for the simple reason that this car is a bold initiative for Tata - be it the size, the price and the features. Moreover, in my opinion success of Tata Aria is going to be crucial for further evolution of cars designed and built in India

Surprised to see that the real VFM car is not listed. The Fiat Linea T-Jet.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Voted for Polo. Having owned a 1.6 for the last 4 months, I can/do not have a choice. Excellent "highwaybility", big car like drive, powerful (1.6 variant only) engine and understated but classy looks.

This poll is yielding interesting results -

Figo is topping the list followed (by a large margin) by Aria and Vento (pretty close) with the surprise 4th spot to Polo.

Vento it is from a purely enthusiast perspective. From a VFM / common Indian perspective it has to be Figo. Voted for Vento.

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

I voted for the Figo.

One request, would it possible to exclude Etios to be excluded out from this rating, as I am sure not even 15% of the voters would have seen the car in person, let alone driving it.

It would be better that its included in next years nominations, as all would have a hang of it. Frankly for me I am still undecided on Etios as I ahve not seen it at all.

Its strange that WagonR is the least among scores, but highest among sales

Re: Team-BHP Car Of The Year 2010

Voted for Vento. Its best in class now for the right price that too from a German manufacturer. Finally Indians started getting what they deserve - Quality cars for the right price, no hidden price for the Brand tag.

@ xingmazon Its strange that WagonR is the least among scores, but highest among sales

You are right. :-)

But Wagon R is not a whole new car, which should also be taken out of this Poll, if Wagon R has a place, then we should add Alto and i10 too.
