The dash too appears similar to the Figo. I hope it does not include Figo's squeaks and rattles as well.

Re: Ford Fiesta Classic Spotted. EDIT : Now launched!

These are the Ex. Show room prices chennai. (Ford web site does not give city wise prices)
Classic Diesel CLXI = 6.9
Dzire ZDI = 7.07
Manza Elan = 7.49

For around 20K more DZIRE provides ABS, Airbags, ACC etc.

If one is not worried about ABS+Airbags then the fiesta classic would fall right on top of their choice (Its a proper sedan when compared to DZIRE & MANZA).

If budget is 8L and the requirements are Diesel + ABS + Airbags, i still see no competition for DZIRE/MANZA.

Re: Ford Fiesta Classic Spotted. EDIT : Now launched!

Now with the Fiesta launched, how does the petrol version stack up with the Etios saloon?
I know this is the best handling car. It would please the driver all the way. (We have the Figo and simply love the car). The interiors are pretty much Figo which is good in a way. For me, this looks far better than the Etios. Better AC, better interior quality, very good Ford servicing.
The only question remaining is: Is the toyota engine so good that would outweigh the other advantages Fiesta has?
Can the Etios make the Fiesta feel old in any way?

The interior is now completely commonised with the Figo. I saw the real deal and as a Fiesta, it has lost its quality. There were huge fit and finish issues with the glovebox and cup holders. Plastic quality is definitely down. However, for the price it is decent.

Unfair to compare CLXi with the top variants of others. Clxi does not have airbags. Right comparo should be with Sxi and others:
Classic Diesel SXI = 8.51
Dzire ZDI = 7.07
Manza Elan = 7.49

With this difference why will anyone buy the TDCi Sxi?

Is the quality loss across all the variants or only for the base model ?
Really doubt if that would have extended to sxi trim with it being priced on the same lines as the old fiesta.

Sorry, i think i did not put the context of comparison clearly. The comparison was based on 8L OTR price range. That money would fetch me Manza Elan, Dzire ZDI or Fiesta classic CLXI.

You are right. I am sure SXI will find very few takers at that price and ford knows this. My observation is that they are targeting buyers who want the image of a premium sedan + good mileage sans safety. (Premium taxi owners should be happy with this launch!!)

As for mileage the best that you can expect from a Fiesta petrol is 11 that too if you take care of it like a new born baby.

I have a Ford Fiesta petrol and it gives a mileage of 14 KM/L on the highway with 75% AC and speeds of 100-120 KM/H.

Re: Ford Fiesta Classic Spotted. EDIT : Now launched!

Its good news for buyers just migrating to a sedan considering they will get an awesome car. But definately bad news for existing owners because the already bad resale value will only go lower. It would have been best to reduce the engine capacity like on the ikon now making the the 1.6l mill an attractive second hand buy.

My only worry is that people could now look at it as an entry level and pocket friendly car than a "driver's car".

FYI - when I was evaluating cars a couple of months ago the sales person at Metro Ford Blore said that the new Fiesta, expected sometime in June, could cost upwards of 12 lakhs. Not sure about this though.

Need to check this out, but IMHO, that Figo's dash had better curves than the older Fiesta's. This is a good thing.

The prices of the Fiesta Classic 1.6 are really bang for the buck. What a deal, a solid car with a smashing engine, far better interiors than some of the recent competetion, super AC, decent FE, all for 6-7L (OTR).

Exactly my point. The base variant is only worth going for.
Be it petrol or diesel.
Waiting to hear the final price of the new Fiesta. Any information guys?
