According to The Telegraph, Director General of the BBC Lord Hall will announce Wednesday Clarkson's removal from the highly rated show. The publication detailed further:

Clarkson, 54, will be thanked for his work on the hugely popular motoring show, but will be told such behavior cannot be tolerated at the Corporation.

The outburst came after Clarkson, who is one of the BBC’s best paid stars, was informed he could not have steak and chips after a day’s filming because the hotel where they were staying had stop serving hot food.

The Telegraph also reported that Hall will make the decision following the results of an internal investigation prompted by the outburst earlier this month, but will defend Clarkson's brash personality. But Clarkson was already on thin ice with the BBC and this incident was the final straw. A move Wednesday would end a roughly three-decade career at the BBC for Clarkson.

BBC is also rumored to seek a replacement for Clarkson, including Ferrari collector and radio personality Chris Evans. But the other Top Gear hosts, Richard Hammond and James May, have indicated they may not continue with the show without Clarkson. Top Gear has been on hiatus since Clarkson's suspension, leaving three episodes from Series 22 unaired. Nearly thirteen years since its 2002 relaunch, Top Gear has grown into one of the BBC's most valuable shows and brands, airing around the world.

On further research I've found out that JC has had a lot of personal problems as well ( divorce ). Maybe the pressure has got to him.

We just got to live with it, the show isn't going to be as good as it was without him. It might go the 2 and Half men route and loose it's popularity soon.

I feel really sorry for this. One of the reasons I started watching Top Gear was JC. I just can't imagine how the show would be without him. No doubt RH and JM are good in their own way but Jeremy was something special even with all his controversies. I admit BBC was under pressure due to all these controversies created by Jeremy but I guess all of us will miss him badly. As stanjohn pointed out, personal problems could also be a reason for his behaviour (or should I say insanity). But his cold humours made me smile a lot. Thanks for all those good times Jeremy Clarkson. You will be remembered.

Agreed on him being fired, and I do believe thats not the end of things, its just a way out that he looks now to have been fighting for (just a conspiracy theory, I agree). Him, and the team, they'll be on ITV or some such quite soon, I am sure.
Meanwhile, BBC will air Top Gear UK, inspired by the mediocrity of US and Ozzy versions.
Though I do believe, in India, he would have been behind bars, or in courts, or dead, because we do not tolerate anything. Humor is the killer of civilizations, we'll have you know!

Jeremy was my all time favorite and top most auto show presenter. Having said this, it also goes on to confirm that nobody is indispensable.
Top Gear definitely had many good presenters in the past. Quentin Wilson for one. Though he never had the charisma and the flamboyance of Jeremy Clarkson, was quite effective and to the point.

I'm gutted that Jezza has been dropped from BBC !! It was such a small issue blown out of proportion , what I mean is not getting steak for dinner, not supporting him punching the producer. Well anyway I will never watch TG again i.e. if JM and RH also quit the show. Anyway on the bright side hopefully he'll be back soon with a new show on some other network and I hope with JM and RH. Jeremy thank you for all the humor and rants gonna miss you on Top Gear!
