Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

The latest episode is probably one of the best of the season. Similar to their Top Gear days.

Season 2 of TGT is getting better every episode. The last 3 episodes have been epic.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

Agreed with all the previous post. I didn't had a chance to watch The Grand Tour during December and until late January due to back to back travels. So when I started watching an episode a day one can clearly see how the second series episodes are becoming better over the previous episodes.
Looks like they are back to their old charm if not will be there soon.
Cheers!

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

I cannot agree more. Second session is much better than session 1. I guess they had some contract with BBC that they cannot follow the similar concept with their new show for certain period. That was the reason for them having the celebrity brain crash thing on first session just to mock BBC.

Last episode of breaking records of amphibious vehicle in water is similar in line of the original BBC series. I think they had one episode also on amphibious vehicle in their TopGear days. I am glued.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

This season is a blockbuster compared to S1 but I wish they had incorporated some standard road cars as a segment; for example, something like what they did with the Skoda Yeti in the Top Gear days.

My 9 year old girl who is glued to this season along with me had a valid question - why do they always talk and drive a Jaguar - new or old? Valid question!

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

The last 3 episodes were excellent, would rate them 4.5/5 each. I skip the guest section usually, but this time that was pretty entertaining too!
Maybe because they are now located in one place, unlike the previous season, they seem to be able to devote more energy to their production values.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

As others have rightly pointed out, Season 2 has been an absolute blast till now, and I have no doubts about the upcoming episodes. It has all the good things from the old Top Gear. The only thing which I personally miss is the Stig. The American was pathetic. I seriously wish they reincarnate the Stig in some form or the other.

Some say intro lines and the silent yet funny nature of the Stig should come back.

Sharing some of my favourite Stig moments

I think Grand Tour has done very well by getting 'Abbie Eaton' on board. She is really fast and they surely can build the aura around her character once she gets some episodes under the belt.

And while we are at it, I will share my favorite ever Stig moment here. This was right after he destroyed the Top Gear Power Lap board with the Ferrari FXX.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

I watched Season Episode 7, the one with the Lancia and Lambo stories, and was quite impressed. I agree with the recent comments on this thread, on how they are getting back in business after a bit of a stutter early this season.

Looking forward to watching the remaining episodes.

The latest one, is the best so far. The Model X review is totally Ludacris ! The only boring part , the celebrity face-off.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

Totally digging The Grand Tour.

Specials such as the Beach Boys and Unscripted have been so spectacular, they reminded me of the Top Gear Africa special, the best by far in my opinion.

I don't know why Hammond is trying so hard to be funny though. He tries desperately to butt in a cheeky sarcastic line every now and then, and it just doesn't seem funny.

I think they're bound legally to avoid any references to Top Gear.

The one with Paris Hilton was like

At times, even Conversation Street is a hit or miss.
