Just how good-looking the Suzuki Jimny is.
With its retro-inspired exterior and boxy shape, it is perhaps one of the most eye-catching vehicles on the road today.

Suzuki’s first graphic package is dubbed ‘Heritage Style’. Priced from 24,000 yen ($230), it includes orange and grey stickers on the sides and can be optioned with a similar pattern on the spare tire cover priced at 8,030 yen ($75), as well as available color-matched mud flaps for 14,575 yen ($135). Customers can also pick 16-inch, 5-spoke wheels for 18,590 yen ($173).

The second package is dubbed ‘Revival Style’ and incorporates a squiggle graphic on the sides with white, pink and black.

These graphics cost 24,090 yen ($224) and can be paired with the same graphic on the spare wheel cover for 8,030 yen ($75) and a distinctive fender emblem for 4,950 yen ($46).

Two other options are the ‘Offroad Style’ and ‘Survival Style’. The first of those includes black, grey, and red strips on the hood, sides, and rocker panels, adding to the retro appeal of the boxy off-roader. As for ‘Survival Style’, it includes camouflage print graphics on the sides and even across the back of the rear-view mirror.

As far as we can tell, it looks like the graphic packages are available exclusively in Japan but we wouldn’t be surprised to see some aftermarket firms offer similar vinyls in other countries.

The Jimny pick-up truck offered by a New Zealand Suzuki dealer has officially released the Jimny UTE, which is equipped with a conversion package for a pickup truck (Jimtra) based on the new Suzuki Jimny Sierra.

Waiting period is now one year.

The highly durable ladder frame structure is a simple structure that allows you to mount cabins and panels, so even if you cut the B pillar and beyond as above, there is no significant effect on durability and rigidity.

It seems that there was a request to introduce this model not only in New Zealand but also in Australia, but at present it is unlikely to be sold outside of New Zealand, due to the current crisis and the demand for the regular Jimny is high.

Suzuki’s UK range becomes hybrid-only, Jimny goes off sale.

Suzuki has removed all non-hybrid variants from its UK line-up, while only existing orders of Jimny 4x4 will be fulfilled.

Suzuki’s wider range now comprises the Vitara and S-Cross SUVs, the Swift and Swift Sport hatchbacks and the Ignis city car. All are now offered solely with mild-hybrid petrol engines.

The Ignis and Swift use a cheaper and simpler 12v system, while the SUVs and Swift Sport use a more advanced 48v system. Suzuki claims economy is boosted by as much as 15%, and CO2 is reduced by as much as 25%, compared with the previous non-hybrid versions.

The range will soon also be joined by the Across SUV.

Straying from its affinity for dressing up sleek sedans, the tuner has chosen the compact Jimny 4×4 and given in a rugged makeover kit. The Black Bison Edition kit is something between a G-Wagon and a Jeep Rubicon, with its Over Fender Kit (an 8-part aero kit that makes each side of the Jimny 30mm wider), LED light bars, JAPAMERICANA Grille, bonnet scoop cover, smoked indicators, spare tire cover, roof spoiler, and chrome accents. Each body piece is also available in the choice of either ABS or FRP.

Suzuki Jimny returns to Europe as two-seat commercial 4x4

Small 4x4 turned into light commercial vehicle after passenger version was axed due to emissions regulations.

Suzuki has ditched the rear seats, in turn transforming the rear compartment into a large storage area with a flat floor and a cargo partition. When compared to the four-seat version with its rear seats folded down, the two-seater has an extra 33 litres of storage capacity - up to a total of 863 litres.

It's axing just two months ago followed a new EU ruling which stated all new cars must emit no more than 95 grams of CO2 per kilometre. Despite its lithe weight of just 1135kg (with the rear seats installed), the Jimny was said to emit north of 150g/km - so it was shelved in the EU, despite strong sales.

By reclassifying the Jimny as a commercial vehicle, it is now subject to less stringent CO2 regulations.
Other than the loss of rear seats, an increase in storage capacity and a revised 1090kg kerb weight, the two-seater is otherwise unchanged.

it's still powered by a 75kW/130Nm 1.5-litre petrol engine; it utilises a part-time 4WD system with low range; and all of the safety features of the passenger vehicle are retained. The two-seater boasts ground clearance of 210mm, a 37-degree approach angle, 28-degree rampover angle and 49-degree departure angle.

With Jimny being a runaway success right from the word GO, the company is reportedly considering wagon and ute versions of the pint-sized four-wheel-drive.

But remember it would not be anytime soon, the earliest could be in 2023.

The waiting list for a new Suzuki Jimny still stretches up to 12 months in Australia, even though production has ramped up in an attempt to catch up with demand.

However, it seems the Japanese car maker is considering expanding the line-up to include a five-door wagon and a ute – both on a new, extended wheelbase.

Suzuki Jimny gets a GVW(gross vehicle mass) upgrade by Ironman 4x4.

-Owners of the Suzuki Jimny in Australia can now pay for an option that claims to double their vehicle's payload.

Fully compliant with Australian regulations, the kit adds 350 kilograms of payload, increasing the GVM from 1435kg to 1785kg. This more than doubles the available payload, compared to a standard Jimny.

This is accommodated by increasing the axle loads to 800 kilograms in the front and 1100 kilograms in the rear, which is an improvement from 680kg and 880kg respectively.

GVM upgrades will likely become a handy addition for the Jimny, which has become a popular target for modifications in Australia

Standard, the 2020 Suzuki Jimny has a listed payload of 325kg with an automatic transmission, and 340kg with a manual.

Towing capacity remains the same, at 1300kg braked and 350kg unbraked.
