Re: 2012 F1 - Circuit of the Americas

Ferrari have become so desperate to move Alonso up, such a dirty game played by making Massa the Bali Ka Bakra.

This is a brilliant tactical move. Let's how far it helps the lead Ferrari.

Now, if Webber takes a gearbox change, Ferrari (both) will go back to the dirty side.

Re: 2012 F1 - Circuit of the Americas

Its confirmed now. Massa gets a grid penalty which moves Alonso to P7 and starts from clean side of the grid.

The above link also points that Webber might go for gearbox change. Which might again move Alonso to the dirty side of the grid.

That's one of the most desperate tactics I've seen in recent times. Can't expect this from anyone other than Ferrari.

Alonso on the cleaner side, granted. But that still wont shake Grosjean and Maldonado off his back. Double dhamaka waiting to happen.

Edit: Haha! Lol! If Red Bull change Webers gearbox then Ferrari's plan goes kaput! This is getting into murky waters indeed!

Holly molly! thats a little hard to digest, no wonder massa was resigned for 2013! Team orders are one thing but this! next would be asking massa to punt out vettel when he gets lapped?? If webber does go for a box change, i think it would be a good payback. Alonso is a good driver but if he was having 100% integrity he would not have agreed to this. Somehow i always felt the piquet crash in singapore wouldnt have been done without alonsos knowledge eventhough he claims the contrary.
Anyway I think we are in for a midfield first corner mayhem.

Re: 2012 F1 - Circuit of the Americas

Christian Horner confirmed RBR won't be moving Webber back to put the Ferrari back on the dirty side.

The Italian team openly admitted that it was a tactical decision taken in order to promote Massa’s team mate and title contender, Fernando Alonso, from P8 to P7 on the grid, a slot which is critically on the right where grip is expected to be far superior as the cars leave the line.
Very sad tactics in my opinion. Poor Massa has always borne the brunt of team orders. Alonso should never have agreed to this. RBR are playing fair. Kudos to them. I'm a Ferrari fanboy, but now, Ferrari are just showing complete lack of sportsmanship!

That is because his car suffered from a terminal failure, something to do with the DRS.

Mechanical prob. First kers failed, then something else must've gone wrong.

Edit: Just in. Alternator problem on weber's car.

Well, I love to see Alonso win, but this was too desperate. Anyway, brilliant race for Hamilton. Unless Sebastian makes a mistake, I don't see Alonso winning this year.

Re: 2012 F1 - Circuit of the Americas

I am disappointed to say the least with vettel's performance today, He was just too slow on the straights today. I will say, he gave the lead himself to the hamilton

@mayankk- I can see smile on your face.

Anyways, Vettel is still on the lead, Hope to see him in 1st postion, in next grand prix.

Cheers,
Sameer

Re: 2012 F1 - Circuit of the Americas

America has done it again and in style!!!!!

What a brilliant race. Brought out the best of all the drivers with a lot of side by side driving.

Hamilton at his true best. A great drive by him.
Great result by all the top contenders.
Alonso still in the hunt for the WDC. The decision to change gearbox on Massa did pay off for Ferrari with a podium to Alonso and a great drive from 11th to 4th for Massa.

Atleast Redbull clinched the construction championship after a bitter disappointment for Webber.

With Rain forecasted for the Brazilian GP, it's gonna be a real nail biter and a very restless 7 days for the F1 Community.
