yup thats true, but in professional sport contracts can be taken care of ...and it has happened in many a sport before. last title for kimi too was on major favours by ferrari (which is fair as its a team call), i do remember massa waiting in pit lane (i think it was sao paulo). @ some stage when a driver like Alonso is avaialble and your current dude is not really doing great ... a team like ferrari would surely have brainwaves

What a farce these officials are making of formula 1. To overturn the decision afterwards and hand the win to massa is a farce. Anyways kimi's luck has run out this time around and he should now help massa win the championship as his chances are gone with the crash today. So we will have a new F1 champion this year. All the best to hamilton and massa for the title battle.

If Hamilton had not slowed down to let Kimi pass, would he have had a more than 25 second lead over Massa (assuming Kimi still spun out of the race) ? That would have been quite something.

Or would the stewards then give Hamilton a 1 minute penalty?

Blame Ferrari! A good driver is a good driver no matter what the conditions are. Kimi has driven a McLaren and can you point if he drove poorly in wet conditions in a McLaren. Any given day Kimi was awesome in a McLaren. Even Alonso, Kubica, Heidfield and Kovlainen are all good

Your dude does not know to stop from crashing into a car in the pit lane! Neither he knows how not to get into a gravel trap with a worn out tire. You can say who is stopping from Ferrari building a better car. Of course it applies to everyone. Who is stopping from Renault buildinga better car so that Alonso finishes on the podium and all the years when the scarlet was winning championships how strong was the McLaren. Even Kimi had huge reliability issues when he was at McLaren.

Massa was neither contesting for a place nor defending his place in yesterday's race during the last few laps. You can call it "held his nerves"!

Ads, yes. And Star Sports has way too many ads during a race these days. Camera angles and broadcasting is handled by the broadcaster appointed for that race by FIA/F1, Star Sports only gets a live feed which it broadcasts on its channel along with ads and commentary. Even the information displays and live timing are handled by the broadcasters.

I don't think there's any reason for Kimi Raikkonen to quit F1. Agreed he's having a poor season, but, he's a good driver. All he needs to do is race more sensibly. Massa's doing that and salvaging whatever he can from each race. As a result, he's just 2 points adrift of Hamilton.

I'm a humongous Ferrari fan, but even I'm confused as to the 25 second penalty ! I thought Lewis relinquished the position to Kimi after his off-track pass - did we miss something in the broadcast or something ?

Kimi, Kimi, Kimi - he did pass the McLaren after he & Lewis came up on a Willliams (Nakajima ?) but spun out just one corner later ! If he'd only held on... And what's with Ferrari's recent penchant for losing GPs 3 or 2 laps from the end ?

Anyway, I'm sure McLaren would win the appeal (as they rightly should). As far as I'm concerned, the best thing about yesterday's GP was seeing the Kimi of old - his move on Massa & Lewis was awesome ! Hope he retains this aggressive form for the remaining races

I am no fan of Hamilton's, though it does seem unfair to give him a 25 second penalty.

If you watch replays, Kimi did do some strange antics just as Hamilton slowed to let him get past after having taken the short cut.

To me it looked like Kimi pressed the throttle too hard and sent himself out of control and Hamilton got past.

Well, what Steve Slater (himself a die-hard Hamilton fan) mentioned after the post race conference was that although Lewis did back off the gas, he had the advantage of already having the momentum to outbreak Kimi at the end of the first corner thereafter & take the lead
