Kudos to BrawnGP for the maiden victory! Heard its the first ever since 1977.

A long deserved win for Button! Could really see it on his face when he was on the podium, I guess his 2nd!

DC must be happy to watch Barrichello doing his job yesterday on track!

The Ferrari team & the boys... another bad start to the season. The car looked like a total failure with the soft tyres. I wish they are back for a good fight atleast in the next few races.

Vettel & Kubica! A well deserved podium for them ended in broken carbon fibres on the track!

. Well said. But I still know this will not change the way others look at him...

Quite late in responding but better late than never.
What a race, through the safety car bunched up the cars.

This is the second year in a row Ferrari had a difficult Australian GP. I really hope they can recover well. Last year Ferrari were in command and would have be a comfortable 1-2 but Massa had different plans. Kimi could have comfortably finished 3rd but for that crash... the opinion is divided, I think it was a mechanical fault (diffusor).

For me the driver of the day was Lewis, he hardly put a foot (tire) wrong.
Here's hoping to another great race this weekend.

Cheers,
Hiren

The FIA has become one big joke! Then Hamilton & Mclaren become serious contenders to the FIA!

This is indeed very rare...
If Lewis and McLaren are found to guilty then expect the rule book to be thrown at them.
I really feel sorry for Trulli, coming to third after starting from the pitlane and then being striped off it. I hope he is re-instated.

Cheers.

FIA is really going mad. If Hamilton's lied and mislead the stewards, it's fair to DQ him. But, what surprises me is that the race is there for everyone to see. If Hamilton overtook Trulli under the Safety Car, why wasn't he DQed there and then? All these inquiries and hearings are a waste of time. Watch the videos and decide immediately. Imagine what's going on in Trulli's mind. Chap finishes third, celebrates, then he's told he's out of the points, his team appeals, then drops the appeal and after 4 days the FIA again says, "You're third."
It's like telling a bank customer who has just withdrawn some cash that he has robbed the bank, putting him in jail, torturing him and after a week telling him that the guy behind him actually robbed the bank. Why not check the CCTV camera first?

Many would be breathing a sigh of relief now.

The whole F1 structure needs to be rewritten and reorganised.

And this is after Toyota decided not to appeal against the 25 sec penalty citing rules that such penalties cannot be appealed against !!

McLaren statement over Aussie disqualification

Quote:

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes have released a statement regarding their recent disqualification from the Australian Grand Prix.

The statement reads:

"The FIA Stewards have reviewed their decision of Sunday 29th March 2009, and have excluded Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton from the results of the 2009 Australian Grand Prix.

"Vodafone McLaren Mercedes understands that the Stewards made their decision on the basis of reviewing radio transmissions between the driver and the Team.

"The Team mistakenly believed that the radio transmissions had been reviewed by the FIA on Sunday 29th March 2009, and consequently did not believe it was necessary to discuss them with the Stewards on that date.

"Nonetheless, the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team now regrets that it did not do so, accepts the Stewards' decision and will not appeal."
Looks like Mclaren wanted to play their chances by misleading the stewards! Well deserved punishment for unethical behaviour!

I wonder what would've been the outcome had it been a Ferrari in question...

FIA would have given them WDC & WCC for third rate cheating in a million buck sport like this!

Get over the Ferrari-FIA thing! Mclaren & Hamilton have cheated and aptly punished! They are not angels.

I'm forced to believe this is also part of the Ferrari-FIA nexus' tricks.

Now, it's easier to blame it on McLaren for any misdoings! Once a scapegoat, always a scapegoat!

Ofcourse, a mcLaren fan's blind view!
