re: My BRUTE-FORT: Toyota Fortuner 4x4 M/T [Upgraded Brake Booster & A/T Tyres]

All, thanks for your replies. Now have the car at home, but been busy travelling, so didn't get to post..

So far so good on the vehicle.. Shake exists but is not bad. I've noted the comments on the clutch and flywheel as well as suspension and brakes. Will keep them in mind!! Thanks for all your help!

re: My BRUTE-FORT: Toyota Fortuner 4x4 M/T [Upgraded Brake Booster & A/T Tyres]

Service Update: 55,000 Km;

Last week got the Fortuner serviced for its 5k service interval.

Total cost of service was a mere Rs 2312/-

Not many things were done in this service as the major engine oil change etc is in the 10k interval range. So this service included normal washing / vacuuming charges, Some top ups, cleaning of the brakes & tyre rotation & other preventive check ups.

Many of my fellow Fortuner owners skip the 5k service interval as it aint mandatory they say, fair enough. But to me i guess its important to get the car to the service station check for faults or detect possible / upcoming problems or part / wear & tear updates.

Shall keep u updated

I usually don't prefer to fill fuel at Mumbai-Pune Expressway specifically due to quality of fuel is always a gamble, but this was one of those times where in i had to so fed 1000 bucks of Diesel to the starving Brute;

What is your opinion about the other SUV, the EcoSport? I don't think there is a dedicated thread for it started by you.

A small write-up, maybe at the Official EcoSport thread.

No company owned outlets on Expressway?

Ecosport A/T is a great car, love the 6 spd DCT, but on the flip side the engine is a downer.

Out on the highway it is truly lethargic hence strictly makes sense for city use

Not having a separate review penned down yet.

The fuel stations are company owned only but just that have heard of some incidents of fuel adulteration earlier so don't feel the need to risk (even though it is cheaper by a Rupee than Mumbai IIRC)

Our dear friend, popular BHPian & a fellow T-Fogger "Guderian" passed away last month.
In his memory we held a drive last sunday to Pawna as this was the first drive what we had done with Guderian & our T-FOG group about 2 years back.

I'd like to share some pics of the drive on my thread;

*Noob Alert*

Can we adjust the brightness of the touch-screen HU of Fortuner? I have been trying, but not come across the option.

TIA.

My Fortuner isn't having the touchscreen HU so im not really sure weather you can do so. But, in my car there is a brightness adjuster below the mirror adjusting buttons which alters the brightness of the speedometer/instrument panel.

So im sure there should be one for the new models having touchscreen.

Facelifted Fortuner owners may be able to throw more light on that

So the Fortuner refused to start in the morning, seems the battery is out & needs a change now.

Thankfully the car is in my residence building only so it is SAFE.

Considering Amaron & Exide for the change, Any advice/suggestions ?

Hi Karan I used to follow Admiral's thread where a similar incident of battery dying was reported. He had opted for Amaron Go with base price of Rs 6,200/- or so. Because of innumerable instances on this forum itself of Exide battery woes I would recommend Amaron. Here is the link to Admiral's post "http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3456427".

Regards.

Thanks
