need to check boy, will let you know.

--------UPDATE 1st Service---------

Rajesh, the Bardhal though sounded not-needed, sure has improved the ride, costs 500Rs for half liter can, and the pick up looks improved. The clutch play was adjusted, and catalytic conveter removed and air blown to remove excess carbon.

Wheel alignment done (Free of cost!!!) and full wash wipe and polish. All major nuts and bolts checked for slack and tightened. Oh- the squeaky seat noise is GONE now...

Took a 120 Km Test drive (LOL) on the GQ and opened her upto speeds 90-100. Feels nice and smooth, did not want to push too much right out of run-in period. I noticed the car purrs at 2200 RPM at 100 KMPH. Thats sure a Highway car. Wish this much torque came at city speeds.

Goons Charged my 8 wheel cap tie tags * 6 Rs = 48Rs - not sure if maruthi does it!!!

Total 1st Service Bill = 548Rs.

-------FE---FE-----FE--------

Did a tank up after that long drive and got these numbers = 619Kms @ 35.99 Lts (High Speed) = 17.19. Out of this at least 480Kms was in Bangalore + AC. At least 40 Kms driven by showroom drivers - sure ripped a bit more diesel through heavy footed driving. I am happy though...

-------

Oh and the Baby got registered in Hosur RTO finally on friday. Will get a number in hand by monday...

Thats a good FE. Better driving will take her to more than 20kmpl.

Hi,

As long as you feel happy, the expense is worthwhile. I mentioned it as it is not part of the service routine.

The TDI is not bad at all in city speeds compared to the non turbo variants.

That's good mileage! In June 2006, I got 21.91kpl between Hosur and Bhavani. I was alone and with AC on.

14 inchers with 185/60 R14's should be enough right ?
IMHO 15 inchers would be a bad idea. and you'd need lower profile = harsher ride...

@greenhorn - i felt the gap is too large between wheels and arches.
@santhosh - any updates on warranty .also i heard that installing autocop power windows will make electrical warranty void . is it true.

bullboy, the TVM dealer himself agreed to fit power windows. The sales guy said they'd be using the TATA parts . cost = 7k for front alone, 14 for both

> Autocop - power window done at dealers - no problem with warranty
> 15" - voids warranty, better idea is to runin the 1st set for 6-10 months, and get a new set of alloys and footwear and make sure to keep the 5 original rims and tyres back in Your garage....

-----------------

-------Need help gurus---------

IFTEX System D Extra --- Can I start using this FUEL ADDITIVE? My showroom guys is saying NO-NO it will seize the engine if used before 10K kms, I sent a mail to Customer service @ TATA and they STRONGLY recomend to use it from FIRST tank full onwards. (of course every 7500Kms for D Extra)... which is these is true?

HELP Please...

The Iftex System D is recommended by Tata. Also as the Tata Customer Service is recommending you, I think you should use it.

Also Santosh, I think you should request the mods to change the title of this thread now.

@ Santosh,

I agree with "trrk" ... I have heard that the wind shield is covered 100% under the insurance.

thanks friends ----

called windshield experts bangalore
080 - 2559 0101 - dickenson road, they promptly transfered the case to madivala, 5 mins from my home address

080 - 6993 0312 - got a call from madiwala branch in a hour, i explained my case, 'he' asked me to call his manager...

99800 10254 - kishore, madiwala br manager, assured me that cholamandalam provides 100% on glass, I have to cough up 500 towards paper work, and another 500-800 towards labor + rubber and its a deal. of course next years NCB is gone!!!

i am going to meet him in a day or 2 to decide...

----thanks again friends, who brought back the confidence in me to contact W.E, after my showroom showed me the door!!!--------
