Raj, these speeds will not give 12kmpl average, particularly with AC on!
Are you sure this is what you get?
Measurement log please?

yes anup saab, 99% of my highway running means mumbai-pune trips.

it includes a 20km drive from my residence to the express highway. i start early morning, that means no traffic. once the highway is entered, i set the cruise control at about 110-120 kmph & relax.

sorry, i dont keep a log book for this but i do get around 12kmpl. also, i have mentioned in another thread somewhere that once i had got 15.5kmpl when i set the cruise control at 70kmph!

another mHawk owner 'getsurya' also had posted some nice figures long back.

the mHawk usually gives 1kmpl more than the CRDe in similar conditions.

I can concur our Scorpio (m-hawk) usually returns slightly above 12kmpl in highway condition with 100% AC. The speeds kept are 85-100 kmph

yes, maybe if speeds are kept below 100 kmph, it may return more than 12kmpl.

Here's my FE figures from the other thread:

With the advent of summer, the AC is always on, and Delhi/NCR temperatures have been crossing 40*C regularly. FE went down a bit, and the best FE for April was 12.74 km/l; the worst was 11.49 km/l. The odo reads 11,7xx km now.

Hope this helps.

Isn't that what I had protested about?!
12 kmpl average with speeds of 120 kmph!!

Even my 2.6 CRDe gives me 12 kmpl if I do highway speeds under 100 kmph!

Anup saab, what i said was, if speeds are kept below 100 kmph, the mHawk will give more than 12kpl. so, at speeds of 120 kmph, it gives 12kpl.

Hi, I have got up to 14Kpl, on part highway & part empty city roads with speeds between 60-90 KMH.

However, since lot of issues & tinkering has happened in the car over the last 1.5 yrs so i have kind of lost interest in keeping a tab on FE, but still it would be in the range of 11-12 KML

Raj,after how many kms,do you plan to change this oil?
I am skeptical about 15K drain period by mahindra.
What is Max treat?

after 15k kms. i stick to the recommended procedure, nothing more, nothing less!

there is nothing to be skeptical about this. if you want to change the oil every 10k kms, you can do it. you can even do it every 5k kms! but the point is, whats the use?

i think max treat is an oil additive or an oil flush added to flush out the old engine oil.

Firstly the new oil that is coming is 20k Drain interval, though I intend to stick to the 15k limit.

Secondly, in my discussion with M&M service staff they told me that they don't recommend any diesel or engine oil additives at all. Its the ASC which in its eagerness to fleece customers add the extra stuff. Diesel oils themselves have carbon flushing characteristics so adding something extra doesn't make sense. Atleast not every 15 K Kms and that too in 35k Kms. May be after 1L Kms yes!
