Congrats Johnnny, on reaching this magic number today. How long did it take you to get there? I'm approaching 39K after 20 months.
Looks like you took this pic while driving at 60. Not very safe, in my opinion.

Re: Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi - 100,000 kms update at 14th Service

I used to read this thread a while ago when I had a fiesta 1.4 petrol. Since I sold it in 2012, stopped following this thread. Now though I've been back and went through the whole thread once again. Reason being I am looking for a used Fiesta Diesel in the approx budget of about 3 L. This and other threads are giving me the confidence that I can take a 50-60K kms run fiesta to over 1L mark in the next 3-4 years. Just couldn' get over the fact that the old fiesta is a great car to drive, hence gravitating towards the fiesta over other options like the punto and other diesels. Will be looking for one in the coming weeks.

Currently at 1.25lac kms and running strong. Regular service is all I'm doing. You should be able to find good deals in and around 3lacs. Will update details soon.

Local mechanics talk about the fuel injectors failing on fiesta diesels. But I can't find anything on forums, specifically on the indian forums. There are some instances on foreign forums. Have you heard of anything like that?

Hi Unni,

Its been a while since we heard about your Fiesta ! Mine has clocked around 1,30,000 now and recently got the GearBox beading and the radiator fan assembly changed. I am planning of changing my car very soon but in a fix as there is no other better handler available like the fiesta in the market. Any suggestions ?

Hi Unni,

My fiesta 1.4 TDCi clocked 109,000km. No sign of Fuel injector problem. I getting my car serviced in Ford authorised network. Never heard from any Ford technicians and works managers about fuel injector failure in Ford Fiesta 1.4TDCi.

Thanks

Recently drove in a colleague's Ikon, it was my first ride in this car and was really surprised by the ride quality with ODO at just over 108000. The best part was the only major repair was with the AC vents, rest is all stock including the clutch. Felt good after reading through your review.

Re: Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi - 100,000 kms update at 14th Service

Dear Unni,

Have been going through your thread for a while now and its very informative. Given your solid experience, I am sure you could help me on this one.

I am driving a 2013 Figo and am now at 90500 kms. My services were done earlier so the 1 lakh km service comes in at 95000. Lately I have been experiencing a mild whining sound on first start of the day. The sound disappears after driving a few kms. And then my car is parked at work all day. Same thing repeats in the evening. Any clue about this? Is this something to do with the exhaust system or the pulleys?

I believe the belts and the pulleys need to be replaced at the 1 lakh km mark for the TDCI. Surprisingly, nowhere in the manual does it suggest for a change. Anyways I will be changing it but just wanted to highlight the same. Would appreciate your help on this.

I believe the drive and pulley belts need to be replaced at 60000 kms on the tdci. I got my Figo's replaced at 42000 clicks on the odo, just because one of the belts was going to be covered under extended warranty, and I'd have to pay around 7 k for the other. Do get your car checked up at Ford A.S.S.

Thanks. The manual has been followed for all services. Service center never mentioned change of belts/pulley at 60K. What vintage are you driving? I am driving a 2013. Perhaps some changes !!!

Will have them inspect the car. Thanks.

Re: Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi - 100,000 kms update at 14th Service

A quick question to all the Fiesta TDCI owners following this thread. Has anyone tried Liqui Moly or any other fully synthetic oil? If yes what is the level of improvement that has been observed in terms of NVH or acceleration or FE?

I was told that Ford does not recommend engine flushing (oil flush) but want to hear if anyone here has done is during regular service or during a switch to synthetic from mineral or vice versa.

PS: Mine is a 2009 1.4 ZXi with 1,30,000 kms on the odo - recently picked up from one of my friends.

Re: Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi - 100,000 kms update at 14th Service

Hi,

I have a 2010 Ford Fiesta 1.4 Diesel EXI model. It has covered only 39000 Kms.

It is rarely used, maybe once or twice in a month. Today it was sent for the 40k service, the SA says that the rear both bearings are gone, and if not changed can take the Axel bearing with them too!!

He suggested to change them immediately and also change the tyres, infacr was very adamant on getting the tyres changed.

I am not in my hometown, so couldnt check myself, have asked the SA to change the bearings, which i know for a fact are gone, but he is insistent on changing the tyres too.

I have told him, that I will get the tyres changed, when I am there next, as I am not very convinced of this argument.

The car wont be used much, till the time I reach my hometown and check the tyres and maybe replace

Please advise.

Regards
Shailesh
