:(

I got my Tail Lamps done today .. along with some other body parts.

Am sorry to say that it didn't turn out upto expectations - the light in the daytime is VERY dim. Plus, the matt finish looks kindof weird.

Lets wait for the night to see what happens.

Am in a bad mood so not going to post any pictures as of now.

@Manveet...
It depends on the number of layers u coat it with. Maybe u went a lil overboard with the paint. And if matt doesn't look good, try applying clear coat. Might look better..

i agree with chip, tail lamps blackened wont give a problem if lights can be seen through, but head lights darkened .....if you dont do night driving, it wouldnt be a probs...right guys??

Well to be honest, I did go a bit overboard with the layers.

And I kind of got angry/sad cause not too much of light was showing in the day. But when I saw the ride at night I TOTALLY freaked out .. its looking SMASHING .. the amount of light passing through is VERY GOOD.

Day pics coming up shortly.

To the BHP'ians who know Delhi:
I went through the acid test yesterday .. took my ride to M-Block GK1. Trust me, I passed with flying colors .. people were staring at the lights .. and when I would brake, they were like shocked !! .. and the Matt finish is really good .. the general thought is that i've stuck 3M matt vinyl on the lights .. but when I brake, they're like "OMG".

.. he he he . ..
I LOVE it !!

Manveets Ride: Pictures

^^ Blackened Tail-lamp and spoiler LED's. ^^

^^ Blackened side-indicators and parking-lights/indicators in HL assembly ^^

^^ Front View of Blackened parking lights. ^^ - also note the now blackened wire-mesh grille and horizontal slabs in the bumper (below the no. plate)

p.s.:-
After all this blackening the only issue is that sophistication has reduced from the ride. Not necessarily a bad thing but definitely not a car that i can now carry-off while wearing a Suit

You know Killipalam maruti popular motors workshop? It's on that road. If Coming from Jagathy take the killipalam road to karamana you'll come across popular maruti service center , keep on going ahead & cross the level crossing and around 300 meters after the crossing there's a small lane to the left with the board 'car care'. Garage is inside that lane onto the right.

One can also use spray paint. First the usual things like covering etc etc etc. The using black paint, Mix Matt Black with Jet(gloss) black at a ratio of 4:6 so the color when dried does not appear glossy nor does it have the wornout look of matt balck. I have tried this since 1986 and still does it. Works cheap, and you can do tricks with masking too.
