I believe you are talking of these: https://ledbeamtech.com/product/ledb...=h8-h9-h11-h16

But these are 46W whereas XUV300 Foglamps are rated at 19W(H16). Wont it result in heating/excess load on electrical system?

An OEM LED headlamp is ~20W , plenty of heat sinks and even a fan on some , so you think this thing would survive if it draws 46W?

It's all useless , don't fall for it.

Re: Comprehensive guide to LED Headlight upgrades

I've a question for this group. I've got DHC F75 LEDs for my car which is 75w + 75w (150w). I've been researching since then that are they safe? The OEM unit has specification of 55/60w. Which means the current drawn by the orginal halogen bulb is somewhere around 4.6A (55w÷12v). Now with 75w LED, the current drawn will be 6.25A (75w÷12v).

If I calculate for pair, 9.2A for halogen setup (55w+55w) and 12.5A for LED setup (75w+75w). This is ~3.25A higher. What is the consequences of it? Should I be worried or not?

Any help, suggestions, inputs are appreciated.

P.S. I've S-cross petrol 2021 model.

Yes, you've got them right!
XUV 300 fogs are 19 watts each. These are 46W, means 23 watts each. I don't think they would cause any overload..
Enlightenment on this is surely welcome!

Re: Comprehensive guide to LED Headlight upgrades

I am looking to replace my fog lamps of Tata Nexon with Leds, However I am not a great fan of white light and golden yellow also does not look appealing.I have been searching for 4200 or 4300 K leds for my fog lamps. Please do keep me posted if anybody finds an economical lead. I do not want to shell out a lot for fog lamps.

With respect to my low beams, I have decided to go for AES GS HID 55 watts with 4300K color temperature.

Re: Comprehensive guide to LED Headlight upgrades

Hello everyone,

I drive a Skoda Laura that came with halogen projectors for the low beams. I'm running a 35w HID kit from Aliexpress for the low beams. The cut off is fine, however I feel the intensity has gone down over the course of time (been 3yrs since I installed the kit).

Are there LED solutions that come close? Any recommendations?

Thanks !

Re: Comprehensive guide to LED Headlight upgrades

Hello all, I recently installed 150w pair LED in my car headlight. When I looked at my car OEM bulbs, they were 110w pair. Would these 150w pair will put extra load on the wiring? Are these actually 150w LEDs or marketing gimmick?

Also there is a driver attached to the LED, what does that do?

If I look at facts, 110w OEM would consume 9amp current pair (110w/12v) whereas 150w would consume 12.5amp current (150w/12v)

Is above correct or they actually consume less current? If yes, what goes behind the power output of 150w?

Please help!

Auxillary lights for motorcycles

Hi all, can experts share the current rules as per MVA on auxillary lights for motorcycles. I used to ride a set up which went kaput, and am running the original lights currently. However on highways the single projector of a Thunderbird is woefully inadequate. Also is the rule variable as per states. Strangely the LED's on cars are legal which have a higher output, and LED's or Aux lights on motorcycles seems to be in crosshairs.

Re: Comprehensive guide to LED Headlight upgrades

Folks - Need a help on Headlamp and Foglamp lighting.

I bought a new 2023 Safari and the headlight seems to be below par, how can we improve them without impacting the warranty and impact to wiring or major changes. There are tons of LEDs available in market but majority of them seems to be chinese brands and am not sure.

Pls suggest.

Please share a pic of the your headlight units and also the relevant bulb types (from your user manual). That way the suggestions you receive will be more relevant.

Thanks, that helps.
Since you have standard 3 inch fog lights the first upgrade should be to upgrade to 3 inch projector fog lights. You can go for either GTR 4300K projector fog lights or IPH M617 tri color 3000k/4300k/6000k projector fog lights. Both are typically available between 8-10k for a set.

This video shows what the GTR fog lights look like.

GTR also have launched an improved version too callled GTR pro. You can also check that out too.

https://carconceptsshop.com/products...s-with-bracket

These upgraded fog lights should solve your low beam problem to a large extent. However if you want to upgrade your High beam halogen bulbs too, you can go for Osram LED 50w 6000k bulbs.

These ones in H7 should be the correct one for you (as per your manual, but please reconfirm before buying)

Both these options are generally available in good accessory stores, but if you are unable to find them you can order them from the links.
