@ akshay - lovely pics! love the bucket seats - try to get a pair of head-rests custom made like this one:

@ dippy - you love the PP for sure - try to get hold of one and do her up?

Oh u bet I love it. was my first car in India. I feel bad for not having it any more. I gave her an engine swap couple of years before I sold it. A 1.6 Mazda diesel engine mated to a Conti 5 speed gearbox. I used love smoking Esteems and Cielos at traffic lights and then get those shocked looks at the next one. She was really fast. Had a metallic black paint job with 13 inchers from the NE and some wide rubber.

@ dippy - do you have any pics of the ride? yeah i know about the car - read it somewhere else in the forum (i think ram's PP S1 thread)

OT: i have access to one more 1986 padmini (stock - my grandpa's car) - but all depends on how much i am able to brainwash him. we had 6 fiats in our family - but before i started loving the car most of them were sold.

OT 2: i ran into trouble when i overtook a santro oneday and the driver/owner took to personally and rammed/brushed his car into my car's RHS rear wheel arch. more details(read the road rage part)

@ mods: please delete post no: 230 (used the report post option as well)

hi there

Guys I guess most of U Fiat owners/drivers must have experienced this - I remember a number of times when I was driving my Fiat, I see some other fiat coming in the opposite direction or even in the same direction... Fiat drivers always look at each other with a big smile and wish each other - probably something that never happens in any other car.

Once I had mom in the seat next to me and was at a signal when another fiat went past in the opp direction, the driver was probably in the mid/late 40s, we saw and wished each other and had this huge smile on our faces... and mom asked - whoz that? someone U know? I said "another Fiat lover" and she didn't exactly get it LOL and when I explanined her... she was like - U guys are crazy.

hi there!! i also faced the same prob in my Padmini a few yrs back. but then my mechanic asked me not to resurface the head.he just changed the head. i bouht that one from a kabadiwalah for Rs.150 got in resurfaced in Rs 600 and my baby is running fine till date. Please use coolant rather than water only. it keeps the temperature really low. the upgrad must not cost you more that 200 bucks excluding the price for coolant and distilled water.

In most cases when I see another Fiat on the road, I make faces at the owner for the gross injustice meted out to the car driving on the road burm to let cyclists pass.

This silver Fiat is owned by Kaizad Engineer who is from South Mumbai. He is now a member of the Mumbai Fiat Club. Yes, his car beat a latest Honda Civic, Audi TT and Skoda RS in the last Speed Run at Kharghar. Beware!!! His Fiat Engine is going through a further upgrade in preparation for the next drag (I suppose). All 200 bhp's and above, better watchout!
FIAT RULZ!!!

1. i thought the RS won at the end.
2. Fiat Engine - i wont call a 1.8Turbo ISZ engine a fiat engine - but then lets hope for the best.
3. FIAT RULZ - you said it

Thats where your Dad's expertise may come in handy to make it able to handle the torque. We can even think about the 137'd's engine cradle too. Ae86 came in different engine's there was a low powerd one of about 90 bhp similar to that of the 1.8 ISZ's output.
