Body coloured grille ?

I fleetingly saw a green city with a painted (? powder coated ?) instead of the usual chrome lipped stuff. I don't know what else the car had (that might have influenced me) but I remember feeling it looked smart. Is this a good idea ? Or will painting/powder coating that just start wearing/chipping off soon and look crappier soon ?

Been a week without the car - she's stripped (pics later today). Also getting an engine flush + Magnatec for the first time, so once the new tyres are on, it should feel like a better car...

BTW, on ICE, how much of a bad/impossible idea is it to keep the cassette player AND get another (mp3) HU installed ?

@Lohith - about a week more - maybe ten days.

Ran into v1p3r and mcl today and that was a lot of help. Managed a set of 4 vtec enkeis - an option I'd been wanting for a while!
Also froze on Pio5950 for the HU, and ordered ES100s all around.

Waiting now.....

Tyre age question

@lohithrao: Enkeis - very good (tough, light) japanese alloys that came on the OHC VTECs.

A lot many dealers seem to tyre stock of varying "vintage" Whats the maximum age (from the date of manufacturing i guess?) of a new tyre one should buy ? Imports (yokohamas etc) typically would be older because of the transport involved...?

Not necessarily, but with imports your problem is of warranty. AFAIK tyres like yokohoma or hankook dont carry any warranty.

If your looking for warranty try either bridgestone or michelin. Michelin's energy series.

You could wait a couple of months. Yokohama will launch officially in India and you will get a warranty. And it will be easier to find your size.

Don't sweat the vintage on account of transport. Yokos get snapped up faster than you can say John Lennon.

And are you getting that mileage already?

Hey zenx, how much did you get the OHC VTEC Alloys for?

I am planning to get some fair priced ones for my OHC too so this might help. Also, are the Enkeis easily available?
