Bro, Have U also ordered Pedders Heavy duty springs to go with the shocks?
Also, since u have rebuilt the engine, U should use regular mineral oil for atleast 5 to 10k for complete engine run-in and then switch to 5W50 synthetic oil.

Did a little parts & oil shopping today. Picked up the following (thanks Sam - your car spa thread was a good guide!!):
1L Radiator flush
2L Coolant
1L Engine Flush
AC Delco Oil filter
Petrol filter
Syndicate Wiper blades
3L Gear oil
1L Brake+Clutch oil
1L Power steering fluid
Bosch (dual) horn
Front brake pads (Sumitomo - OE for Lancer)

Picked them up at a resonable rate. Saved a TON over the HM A.S.S priced.
The brake pads, for example, would have cost me 2.5k in the A.S.S!!

Was supposed to pick up Castrol GTX Engine oil (synthetic oil after running-in), but somehow that slipped my mind. Will go back tomorrow to pick it up. Will also pick up a Bosch Silver battery which I have been quoted 2750 for.

After this, took a trip to the workshop to check on the progress of the body work/painting. The external primer coating has been done - the car is ready to be painted once the engine arrives from Bombay. The interiors & engine bay have been painted black.
Custom-made fog lamp enclosures have been made... will be fitting the Swift fogs, with the plastic parts painted in the car colour. Should look good.

Progress is being made

Updated pics in album:

PS: I just noticed that the wiper blades are of unequal length - is this normally the case, or did they give me a wrong size?

looking good Razor, Is the clutch fluid all dot4?

Also the fuel filter looks different. How much was it? the OE mitsu fuel filter costs Rs.2200.

The wipers are of different sizes no need to worry.

Yup... all DOT4 (white).
Fuel filter is a replacement part for Lancers. Not OE, but made in Japan. Cost me 275. Lol!
It's a decent quality product... the shop I got it from is pretty reliable.

OT: What's the update on the Fiesta? Your uncle make any progress?

You are most welcome Razor, when I saw the photo of the oils and stuff all laid out etc. that's exactly what I was thinking of, and then I see your post. Made me smile.

Don't be confused, this is normal.

Daylight Robbery. excellent Japanese replacement air filter (see my spa thread), and fuel filter are much MUCH cheaper. Both made in Japan and recommended for lancer.

Baaki, the oil filter, purolator zindabad. Cheap and best.

Why "Phoenix"? Well, I'm sure all of you know that a Phoenix is a bird that is reborn from its ashes. While my Lancer isn't in ashes exactly, it is undergoing some heavy restoration and modification. And Phoenix sounds better than revived or restored or whatever!!

The objective of this project was to have a car that was not too flashy, yet stood out in the crowd... not an OTT performance beast, but fast enough to stay ahead of the pack. Most importantly, it needs to be an everyday city car.

It's been over 2 months that I've gotten into this project, and I think I can honestly say that I am an obsessed man
One day it's performance, the other day it's tyres, then ICE, then body kits...etc, etc, etc. And let me tell you, Team-BHP does not help! I keep stumbling upon some info everyday that fuels a new desire in me....
Hi Reza and congrats on your Lancer project. Please keep us updated with progress pics. Would love that. Liked the pics in the link you posted. Those are not OE rims are they? anyway I hope you'll change them too. And why did you say Team-bhp does not help..I presume its a typo.. maybe you meant team-bhp does help
Enjoy your labour of love and Welcome to the club!!

Thanks Gogi bhai!
Team BHP does not help because I keep hearing about something new each day that makes it tougher for me to make up my mind
But in a way, this whole project was inspired by all of you, so much appreciated!

Rims - yea, what you see now are OE... they will be replaced with M6 replica rims.

@moral, ricky, planet, IMP, wolf: thanks for the encouragement guys!

Razor, nice going. Even after all these years the Lancer is still a looker.
I'm curious about the price of the pedders spring and shockers set

Engine & performance mods are being done by Viper in Mumbai as mentioned.

Here is a break-up of the list of mods. I'm sure I'll forget something and add it later!

Engine & Performance mods:
Custom Free Flow Exhaust with Ceramic Coated Headers
Conical Air Filter (Ractive SF100) with SS pipe
Full engine overerhauling
Throttle Body Enlargement
Stage 2 Head Porting with Intake Manifold Porting and Head Shaving
Tri-Phase module
Iridium plugs (recycling my Santro ones which are in good shape)
RPM Short shifter kit

Will be considering a high-lift cam and a fuel pressure regulator in the next phase (if my wallet allows me!!)

Suspension & tyres:
Pedders Heavy duty coil springs on Pedders Comfort Gas shock absorbers.
Tyres & rims - being debated in the Tyres & Alloys section!!

Exterior:
Full body work with paintjob (colour to be changed to black).
SFXi skirts for front and side, full custom skirts for rear.
Mesh work in front air dams with custom fog lamps (working on these).
Philips X-treme Power +80% halogens (OE wattage: 55/60)

Interiors & ICE:
Dashboard painted in a black-grey dual colour scheme which improves the dull interiors considerably.
Leather-art leather custom interior
ICE: will post an update in the ICE section, but it's gonna be pretty good

Other mechanical parts like brakes, clutch etc will be repaired/replaced as required.

More later...
sounds good ..nice mods..

Since its already stripped, why not do complete damping as well?
