Those are quite some options, the first one I liked. The last one was too much.

Anyway are those fabricated or imported? I think you get the drift why I am asking this!

All the after-market tail lamps are imported mainly from the South east.
That is why U get aftermarket headlamps and Taillamps for japanese cars that are sold there, like the City, Accord, Lancer, Swift, civic, cedia ,etc..

i actually like the last one. but too much bling bling. i hope razor wont like it either. IMO the best option will be to smoke the stock cluster like Ricky's.

i hope we will get to see her on 22nd @ the "gola" meet.

Last one is too bling for me. Not my style The other 2 look great, but are over budget for now. Shall consider it in the future.
Smoking the OE lamps is a good idea - will see what can be done.

As of now, it doesn't seem likely that Phoenix can make the 22nd meet :(
Quite a few things pending... will post an update soon.

All that effort with the stock tail lamps, can you visualize? Okay you can go for the later clear lens job (but not the number plate flanks). How about a Evo - Spoiler?

I actually like the number plate flanks! And the clear lens job will not go with it. Did some photoshopping to decide that. Plus, Arush PM'ed me with the prices, and they are all north of 10k. Kinda steep for me at the moment. But, defintely something to keep in mind for the future. Smoking the tail lamps will make'em look pretty nice IMHO. Let's see.
Evo spoilers? Nah! A bit too OTT ... plus, I like the stock spoilers!
I guess in a way that's the best part about the first-gen (Indian) Lancer. It looks bloody good STOCK. A few tweaks here and there + a good paintjob and u got yourself a stunner

@blackpearl : engine has been mounted today, but i need to get hold of a few parts before we can get it started. these were broken/cracked in transit and i need replacements. look in the technical section for details. taken the first half off tomorrow... gonna do some hunting around.

Are the parts not easily available? and how much are they going to hurt in terms of cost? have heard that HM parts are quite reasonably priced, is that true?

Where is Sirish motors (if you had mentioned it before I've forgotten!)? I was planning on getting it from Sheesh Auto on Karaya rd. They have good stock, and I've got my other stuff from them.

Theres one more nearby - Royal motors - they stock HM parts and usually have a big inventory.

As of now, it's a silence fuelled by frustration.

I am getting sick of things going wrong at every single step.
1. The engine parts that were damaged are not available in Cal outside the HM workshops (easily double the price). So Sheesh Motors (my trusty spares shop) is sourcing them from Delhi. Was supposed to pick them up this evening, but it turns out that they sent one wrong part, and this will (supposedly) arrive tomorrow evening. And given that the engine needs all the parts to start, I'm pretty much stuck at the moment.

2. Pedders shocks - these were supposed to be here a couple of weeks ago, but have not come in yet. Called up the guy and he said very nonchalantly that only the rear shocks have arrived... the fronts will take at least another week to come in. I am now debating whether to get only the rears fitted, and leave the stock suspension up front. Will fit the fronts when they come. But that's going to mean opening up the suspension again, which is something I want to avoid. On the other hand, a week is never really a week for this dude.... so not sure what to do.

There are a few more things pending, but no show stoppers. The above 2 factors are - engine and suspension.

The project has been delayed and delayed and delayed... and my patience is wearing thin. The only thing that keeps me going is the end result, which I hope will be sweet. Sometimes I just close my eyes and picture the finished package, and that helps me carry on. Truth be told, this is probably the toughest and most challenging project I have worked on.

Phoenix, give me strength
