Hehe... I know I know. Will take a massive amount of restraint on my part to run this baby in properly.
I guess the end result will make it worth it!

I've seen a hell a lot of intake pipings that are badly designed and will only give negative differences in performance.

Guess I stand corrected! And makes me feel good to learn about the quality of Standox

@nitrous: i've seen some awful setups too buddy. Came across a "pimped" up Civic back in the states which had a really long intake pipe, which snaked around the engine bay with bend angles > 120 deg
Don't worry... I won't make such mistakes!

Hey Razor... that is a nice pictorial representation on the progress you are making with your lancer.....I am buying one soon and will certainly be following your online photo guide to modify mine.....Planning to paint mine(which i am going to buy-- a 1999 silver petrol Glxi)...

I am not sure if this is the right thread as i was unable to find the correct one....
Now I wanted to know what is the fuel efficiency on the petrol lancer....??
Is there a way that the efficiency can be tweaked????
Is it a good idea to convert the lancer to lpg/cng??

****Mods please tell me if there is a different thread and you may delete this reply if irrelevant...******

Thanks buddy.

Now, for your questions...
Fuel efficiency - it used to give around 9kpl in the city with AC. Dunno what the revised FE will be after the overhauling and modding.
I don't think there are any Lancer-specific ways to tweak the FE. The regular stuff - go easy on the revs, maintain your car well - tyre pressures, engine oil etc.

LPG/CNG conversion:
You could have a look at this thread:

You could contact harmon_bro (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/members/harmon_bro.html). He has an LPG kit in his Lancer.

Thanks man!

The INVEX grill is not a straight fit on the 2k model. Some mods would be needed on the bonnet to accomodate it.
I was actually given an option at the workshop - a custom made fibre grill with mesh inside, which was not too dissimilar to the INVEX grill, but more sporty (and no chrome). Was tempted to go for it, then changed my mind. I really have a weakness for the swooping grill that was OE on this car... gives it a "hawkish" and mean sort of appearance! But I did have it painted black.

@viper, BUSA: who knows, maybe the dude has a franchisee in Florida

The car is looking awesome. Love the black colour- seems pure black (i dont know how to explain though).

hey... One question... Are you going for luxury interiors/sporty interiors to go with the black paintjob?

Thanks CrAzY dRiVeR! I understand the "pure black" comment. I mentioned somewhere previously on this thread that the colour is indeed jet black, with no tinge of green/blue etc, and no grains.

Regd the interiors, I have got them painted in a dual black/gray combo, with chrome inserts (on the door console, A/C vents & console etc). The upholstery is a black perforated leather + high quality art leather combo. Steering wheel & gear will be wrapped in black stitched leather and the handbrake in art leather. So I guess it's a comination of sporty and luxury... hope it turns out well!
