great initiative going on here!
read through the thread and was very happy to see someone go about it in such a fashion with active feedback form the pros

usually someone would spend a lot of money on research to come up with something like this

but i like the approach here, of getting feedback right from the consumer who is going to be the end user

some names that came to my head

noises off
silent vibrations
nojarrr
khitpitshut
clearsound
calrisound
thumpsup (reminds one of the cola but then thats thumsup)

yea some might be on a stupidly funny side
but then the brand name should be easy to remember

  • The thicker Al is ready.
  • Bigger batch of adhesive is ordered and expected tomorrow. Thinking about a thicker layer this time.
  • The backing paper is ready.
Whats not ready?
  • The name..
  • The rubber compound.
I want to match / exceed Dynamat Extreme, So I have done some basic testing on the rubber portion of the dynamat extreme and had some VERY interesting findings. Sent the sample to an external lab to confirm my doubts.

Btw.. names I thought of...
  1. VibeSorb
  2. VibeStop
  3. Vibreducer (Sounds like a juicer?)
  4. and since I am running out of imagination, SiltonMat (Company name is Silton)
Need more suggestions guys ....

Hey Abhi,

Have sent across a single unit of Wuerth for product comparison.

This is something i procurred during my visit to Hamburg. A similar indian version also exists and the product is also very similar as well.

You can get a good idea of the top layer used in Wuerth. The alternate to Al as discussed over the telecon.

The adhesive compund that i was mentioning is working too expensive for your present program. However a small tin ( 150 ml ) for trial is being sent along as well.

Keep the good work going.

On the concept of product naming, here my .0002 cents.

1. A traditional mechnism might be to contact your home astrologer and based on your birth stars as per kundli - choose the starting alphabet for your product venture.

This concept of astrology is truly ancient and having studied basic vedic math in the US, I can safely confirm that there seems true meaning in most of our supposedly meaningless rituals.

Call me 'Old-Fashioned' but if there is a risk mitigating route to business effeciency and iff i have access to such routes, i'd love to use them. !!

But as i said, thats my .002 cents.

2. Going by the popular naming conventions in the market place, most auto products of this genre are B2B sale proceeds where product features matter more than the name. However a name that also resonates product features, is truly appreciated.

2.1 Silton-Mat ( good option going forward )
If the product roll-out increases and you have scope for improvement, then this naming nomenclature will hold you in good steed. For eg
2.1.1. Silton - Industrial Mat for heavy noise reduction.
2.1.2 Silton - Damping Spray for auto under-body usage
2.1.3 Silton - HoodLiner & Fire Retardant etc

3. My name choices
3.1 Siltronics
3.2 Music Extreme
3.3 Khamoshi ( Wierd Wacky idea...but an idea !!! )
3.4 Silent Music

Cheers to your effort and am sure we can spin it around with all the collective effort here in the forum in creating a logo, product endorsing teasers, some web-ads, product info leaflets, packaging techniques, colors in branding, logistics and a complete business case plan to help you in very way possible.

Finally, long live the Idea.!!!
