congrats on a clean install. Those aluminium pipes look drool maal. Since the turbo pipe runs over the turbo heat sheild, it may be better idea to insulate that part. You can bring the insulator from US. 2.5 cents!!
where is v(somnumbers)pr? post comments.

The car is driven by his dad Akshay. Better be safe than sorry. Specially, when you know your dad has no clue whats lurking under the hood.

Mohnish, that looks like a very professional install. Congrats. Hope to see this on track. Btw, didn't you pick up Bilstein suspension for the car already in the US?

@mclaren: The car driven by my dad or driver is no issues, its just that dad has this tendency to give the car to his friends when they have to leave town, now that the white innova left the fleet of cars at home my sx4 replaced the empty spot. At least till dad gets his own car. And as of the suspension kit i sent it back as the kit was for the hatch and the struts are layed out sightly differently compared to the sedan.

@Akshay: Like mclaren said it's for being safe than sorry with all of my dad's buddies driving the car.

Thanks guys but like I have been saying even all I have seen of the build is in the pictures. With the RaceDynamics team I would like like to thank the guys who flew from HKS Japan to do the build and Psycho and v1p3r for the whole thing.

My bad. Should've been more observant....sorry, Jeetu bhai....I didn't notice the piping going through to the manifold...besides, I thought they had routed the tappet cover "breather" to the BOV, for some odd reason....

@memo; Wonderful. Planning to make a Bangy trip sometime soon...

A few phone calls across a few continents was what it took to have the first HKS SX4 bolt-on. Thanks to Memo,Psycho and V1p3er.

The turbo kit has been specifically designed as a street sport package with priority on drivability. This is how it went -

Day 1: We get the car by late noon, started tacing out the electronic systems. RD0601-Race ECU up and working by night.

Day 2: HKS engineers start work in the morning, installing and taking all measurements, pics, etc. they are going slow as this is their first Indian SX4 install. Just for the info, SX4s in India have different AC plumbing.

Day 3: Complete system fully functional and cranked up by noon. Psycho drops in just when we start ECU mapping. Wastegate was set at 3 psi and we do a couple of runs. initial feel - package feels very streetable, tight and reliable.

Day 4: Installed turbo timer and started full ECU calibration. Went up on the boost to 3.7 psi. Everything running perfect, we went up progressively on the boost till injectors started maxing out, so we roll back and limit it to 3.5 psi of boost.

Returned the car with boost reduced to 0.5psi (for Memo's dad and driver ), waiting for Memo to start work on exploiting full potential.

Few videos -

The same kit on the japanese M16 ( with VVT - stock 125bhp) is tested (on a conservative state of tune) at more than 200bhp at 0.9 bar of boost with peak power coming around 6600-7000RPM.

You mean 0.5 bar or Psi? as 0.5 psi is hardly any boost.

P.S I have a nice suggestion for this setup will post up by tonight.

I guess it is 0.5 PSI, 0.5 BAR would be like 7.25 PSI wouldn't it ?

Yes, hardly boosted - perfect for chauffeurs & valet parking.

I guess it's Memo's chastity belt for his SX4 (till he gets home)
